'Get to know me' Tag!

Friday, 29 March 2013

Hey Lovelies! I've seen quite a lot of these posts on other people's blogs so I thought I'd try one myself. I'm such a nosy person its unbelievable so its only fair I share a bit about myself too, although, this will probably let everyone know how boring I really am! Enjoy!

1. Are you named after anyone?

Not that I know of. I was almost called Jordan when I was born but that ended up being my middle name instead (I prefer Becky to Jordan anyway so Im happy with that decision!)

2. When was the last time you cried?

I've recently started watching Gossip Girl again and it's embarassing to admit it but I think the last time I cried was when Chuck finally said 'I Love You' to Blair, or maybe when I was watching The Vow. Im so bad for crying at films and TV!

3. Do you have kids?

Nope. I want to live my life a bit more before I have kids, I'm not ready to give up the parties for nappies just yet!

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Hmm, probably because we would both like the same things and get annoyed at the same things. But I think I would probably get really annoyed with myself if I wasn't me because I'd see all the little annoying things I do and maybe we would be too similar to get on.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Yeah but I should probably try to keep it to a minimum because a lot of people find sarcasm really annoying!

6. Will you ever bungee jump?

I really like roller coasters and things like that so possibly, but I would probably chicken out!

7. Whats your favorite cereal?

I hardly ever eat cereal because I don't really like it, I never eat it quick enough and I cant stand soggy cereal! I usually just have a yogurt or fruit for breakfast because I'm not really a breakfast person. But if I had to pick one I'd say Krave because its got chocolate in it! But only with a tiny bit of milk. (So Fussy!)

8. Whats the first thing you notice about people?

This probably makes me sound really vain but how they are dressed. Well, more like how much effort they have put into how they look. But if you don't know someone and you've never spoken to them you cant really notice much else!

9. Whats your eye colour?

A greeny brown colour, kind of murky green.

10. Scary movie or happy endings?

Happy endings. I hate scary movies, as in I can't watch them or I won't sleep for a month. Anyone of my friends can tell you how much of a disaster taking me to see Woman In Black was! In my opinion, you cant beat a good rom-com.

11. Favourite smells?

Anything fresh or fruity. My favourite perfume is Chanel Chance Au Fraice (The green one), its such a lovely fresh smell that you can wear either daytime or at night.

12. Summer or Winter?

Definitely Summer, I hope that one year its actually hot and not rainy. Also, its my birthday at the end of July, we get lots of time off to catch up with friends from home and go on holiday if your lucky!

13. Computer or TV?

If I had to give up one I would give up TV. Mainly because you can watch TV on your laptop now and get on the internet, and honestly, I think Im too addicted to Facebook and Twitter to give them up now, sad i know!

14. Whats the furthest you've ever been from home?

I went to Hong Kong in 2010. It was amazing and there were so many lovely shops!

15. Do you have any special talents?

Unfortunately not, I wish I did though.

16. Where were you born?

Crewe, but I moved away when I was really young so I cant remember a thing about it.

17. What are your hobbies?

Apart from blogging, I love to go shopping and sometimes baking cupcakes when I've got the time.

18. Do you have any pets?

I have 3 cats which I love to bits and miss loads when Im at uni! One is a little Siamese, One is a little grey and white one who is quite shy and the other is a very big grey one! Theyre so cute!

19. Favourite movie?

This is a tricky one! I love Christmassy films like 'The Holiday' and I also love really cheesy Disney films like all of the High School Musicals. And any kind of Rom-com really!

20. Do you have any siblings?

Yes, I have one younger brother.

I hope you enjoyed this random little post! If you've done this tag on your blog let me know so I can be nosy and have a look!

Favorite Perfumes

Wednesday, 27 March 2013

Hey everyone! I haven't been able to post in a while because I've had so much work to do for Uni but I'm all finished for Easter now! My perfume collection is slowly growing so I thought I'f share my 5 favorites with you all: Chanel Chance, Marc Jacobs Daisy, Jimmy Choo, Abercrombie Spirit, and Victorias Secret Pretty and Pure.

Chanel Chance - I've wanted this perfume every since it came out! I used to always spray a bit whenever I went to the Chanel counter or duty free and I was lucky enough to get some for Christmas :) This is my all time favorite, its so fresh and you can wear it during the day and out at night. I tend to save this one for nights out and special occasions, or if I just want to feel good instead of using it as an everyday perfume because its quite pricey!

Marc Jacobs Daisy - I've been using this perfume for a few years now and I now have 2 bottles, a body wash, and 2 body cremes! Its such a girly light fragrance that's really nice as an everyday fragrance and the body creme is so good! Its really thick and luxurious and the smell stays for ages, also, it has little flecks of shimmer inside it which sparkle when your skin hits the light so great for a night out!

Jimmy Choo - I used to wear this everyday but now I tend to use Daisy or Chance. Its a really sweet smelling fragrance, and smells kind of like rasberrys which is really nice because I really like fresh and fruity smelling perfumes. I think this perfume is better for at night though because the smell is a little heavier.

Abercrombie Spirit - I love this perfume but unfortunatly they don't sell it anymore so I've been keeping this one for best too because I know once its gone I won't be able to get it again!

VS Pink, Pretty and Pure - This is technically a body spray but the smell is quite strong and I use it as a perfume. Its a really fresh and sweet fruity smell which I love and is great for everyday! This has been one of my favourites for a few years now and I can't see it being replaced anytime soon!

Let me know if you have tried any of these and what your favourites are! Hope you all have a lovely Easter too!

Benefit Browzings

Wednesday, 20 March 2013

I think its really important to make sure your brows look good because they frame your face, and when I look back at photos when I didn't really do anything with mine I'm like 'what was I thinking?!'. My eyebrows are basically invisible if i don't put anything on them and it just doesn't look right, considering I have dark hair.

I used to use brown eyeshadow on my brows because that's all I had and I didn't really want to splash out on anything too expensive but by the end of the day it didn't look as good as it did when I first put it on which was annoying.

I had a bit of Christmas money so I decided to take a trip to the Benefit counter and bought their Hervana Blusher which I have reviewed here and the Browzings. I got it in medium which as you can see from the photos is quite dark but the lovely lady at the counter explained that the light colour is more ashy and would suit blondes better than my brunette hair. It comes with a wax and a power, an angled and blending brush and a tiny pair of tweezers.

You apply the wax first using the angled brush which helps to shape and set your brows so they dont budge all day if you accidentally brush your hands on them or anything. Then you use the blending brush to apply the power over the wax which sets the wax and makes your brows look more natural. The tweezers are okay but they aren't great, but maybe that's because I'm used to using tweezerman tweezers which are great.

I would definitely recommend this product, I can't live without it now that I've started using it, I get that a lot with Benefit products!

Have you tried Browzings and what other Benefit products do you love?

Before and After Browzings, what a difference it makes!

OPI Minnie Mouse Collection

I wanted this collection for ages because I love Disney and Minnie Mouse is my favorite character, and all the nail varnishes are pink which is great for me! They are quite expensive to buy every shade in the collection so I found a mini collection with little bottles of every shade and bought that. I was dissapointed that it didn't come with 'Nothin' Mousie 'Bout it' because thats the shade I really wanted, so I did buy a full size bottle of that.

The collection comes with 4 shades and a Rapidry Topcoat which is amazing and drys in seconds!

Nothin' Mousie 'Bout it - I think this shade is really pretty, its like a pink shimmery glittery shade with little hearts in it which you can use on any of the shades in the collection and it goes really well! The only thing with this one is that it is really tricky to get on and controll where the hears end up so if your not very good at painting your nails (like me) it can look a bit messy.

Im all ears - this is a really nice colour for summer because its so bright and looks really nice with a tan. Its a fuchsia colour with little shimmery bits all through it and looks a bit like gel nail varnish when you put it on because its super shiny.

The colour of minnie - This is kind of a red colour, but more of a pink red. Its also really bright and it looks really good with the Nothin Mousie Bout It on top because you can really see the hearts and the shimmer on the darker colour.

If you moust you moust - I love this colour, its such a girly pink colour and I just think its so pretty. Its a bright bubblegum (barbie) pink and looks good with a tan or if your pale like me. This is one of my favorites in the collection because I just think its a really pretty colour.

If you moust you moust (Left) with Nothin mousie bout it ontop (right), sorry about the messy nails!
A much neater view of the colours!

Revlon Lip Butter - Strawberry Shortcake

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

I bought this lipstick the other day and I've not been able to stop wearing it! I got the colour strawberry shortcake which I think is a really cute name and its like a light bubblegum pink colour. I usually wear pink lipstick because I just don't think I suit red lipstick so this shade was perfect for me.

The lipstick is so conditioning and makes your lips feel really soft which I really like because I know some lipsticks can make your lips look dry or crack if they're too matte. I like how it gives the impression that I'm wearing a little bit of gloss without me having to add lipgloss on over my lipstick because sometimes that can look and feel a little sticky.

I think the packaging is really nice too, its quite sleek, and I think when you take the lid off its more high end looking too which is great because it only cost me £7.99.

This shade is quite sheer but it is buildable if you want a brighter colour, I quite like it being sheer though because it means I can carry it around in my bag and apply it without the need to use a mirror and I wont end up with dodgy lipstick lines or lipstick all over my face!

Garnier Ambre Solaire Bronzing Gel *

Monday, 18 March 2013

Hey Ladies! Summer's coming soon so I thought I could do some reviews on a few fake tanning products I've tried! This is one of the first new fake tanning products that I've tried for a while so I was expecting good things...apparently I was wrong to expect this. Im sorry for the negativity in this review but I was so dissapointed with the results that I thought I should share it with everyone.

Firstly I'll talk about what I liked about this tan because its not all bad! I really loved the smell of this tan, it was a really nice peachy kind of suncreamy smell which really reminded me of summer, and I really liked how it didn't smell like fake tan at all. I'm always really skeptical about fake tanning products that don't smell like fake tan though because I assume that means it doesn't have much of the actual tanning ingredient in it, but I'm no expert on the science side of things!

I also really liked how soft it made my skin feel. On the bottle it does say that its really good for people who want their skin to be moisturized and feel soft after use, but this doesn't really bother me because if I want my skin to be soft I'll just use my moisturizer. It was also really easy to apply, although there was no guide colour so it was hard to tell where I had applied the tan and if it was even.

But sadly, this is where the good stuff ends. The bottle said that the tan would appear in 3 hours but this didn't happen, but I thought maybe the tan would develop in a few more hours so I went to bed hoping to wake up to a sunkissed glow. When I woke up in the morning the tan was nowhere to be seen, I know it said light on the bottle but this was so light you couldn't see it, and you can see from the pictures that there really was no difference.

Also, the bottle said that this was a 'no streaks' bronzer however the only areas where I could see the tan were a few patches all over my chest and legs which were brown and the rest of me was just my normal pale self. Not really the look I was going for!

When I got in the shower to wash the tan off my skin felt really slimy and oily because when the water mixed with the gel which had dried on my skin it was coming off like some sort of slime and it wasn't a nice feeling! It took me ages to get rid of the goo feeling on my skin which I would have been able to put up with if the colour had been great, but it wasn't so amazing.

Im not sure if this tan just wasnt right for me because I usually prefer either a spray tan or a mousse so let me know in the comments box if you've tried this tan and how you got on with it or any other great tans because I'm still on the look out for the perfect one!

My arm before applying the tan...

My arm the day after I applied the tan...

You can see the streaks on my skin in this photo...

Hey everyone :) I've heard a lot of posts and people talking about how GFC might be going soon but nobody knows for sure, so I just wanted to remind you all that you can follow my blog on Bloglovin. If you want to follow me the link to my profile is in the side bar :)

Hope you all had a great weekend and your Mondays haven't been too terrible!

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation

Saturday, 16 March 2013

This is by far my favorite foundation I have ever tried. I got given a sample at the YSL counter before the UK launch of this foundation and was so impressed. I bought it pretty much as soon as it came out back in July and I've only just run out last month, I think that's pretty good for a foundation which you use everyday.

I love the smell of this product, it's fresh and almost smells like my favorite perfume (Chanel Chance Au Fraiche) so I love it. It feels like you haven't got anything on your skin because its so light but it still manages to give you a medium coverage. This definitely isn't a full coverage foundation so if your looking for full coverage this isn't the one for you.

It contains the touche eclat formula which I love because it gives you a really glowy complexion without being shiny and picks up on the light which looks really pretty. When you first apply it, its quite shiny but if you leave it for a couple of minutes it dries and goes more matte so I don't think there is much need to wear a lot of powder with this foundation if you don't want to. It's a little expensive as it costs about £28 for a bottle but i definitely think that its worth it and will be buying this again when I get the chance!

Let me know if you have tried this foundation and what you think of it, Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Foundation on hand - looks like nothing at all but is covering a lot of imperfections which I have on my hands!

The foundation really does work like highlighter in the light!

My Top 5 Products

Friday, 15 March 2013

I thought I would let you guys know what my top 5 beauty products are so here goes. I found it really hard to choose because I have so many that I love but If I was going away to a desert island, these are the 5 products that I would take with me!

Moroccan Oil - I literally couldn't live without this! I have really curly hair which I don't really like that much (even though everyone says I should keep it curly), so I straighten it loads which I know is really bad for your hair but its just so much easier to manage. Because I straighten it so much my hair is in pretty bad condition but it would be so much worse if I hadn't been using this product. I use it every time I wash my hair before and sometimes after drying (or frying) it! It helps to keep my hair smooth and tame and makes it silky and shiny.

Benefit Browzings - I've only recently started using this product and I love it! My eyebrows don't really grow very full so I used to fill them in using eyeshadow and just an eyeshadow brush, I thought this looked okay at the time until a lovely lady at the Benefit counter suggested I try browzings. It comes with a setting wax which you use first with a little angled brush. I'd never used wax before but it really does make such a difference, it keeps my brows neat and they stay put all day. It also comes with a powder which you apply over the wax with a little blending brush to fill your brows in. I think eyebrows are really important because they frame your face and when I look back to photos from when I didn't really care what mine looked like I just think 'what was I thinking?!'

MAC Zoom Lash - I first tried this when I got it as a present and I think its great, it makes your lashes look so long and volumized. The brush is quite thin and small so its good for getting right into the corner of your eyes to make your lashes look thicker and longer and give you a more wide eyed look.

Benefit Highbeam - This is my favorite highlighter. Its a pinky coloured highlighter with a slight shimmer that looks really pretty when the light catches it. I use it everyday on my brow bone and on the tops of my cheeks to lift my face and give me a glow. You can see my full review on this here

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation - I first tried this foundation when I was given a sample whilst buying another product. The sample was tiny but it lasted me ages! I bought the full size of this foundation as soon as it was released in the UK because I was so impressed with it. It smells lovely and feels really light on your skin. It gives you a medium coverage and has the touche eclat formula in it so it gives your skin a really lovely glow. When you first apply it, its quite dewy but it you leave it for about 5 mins it has a more matte effect with a subtle glow.

I hope you enjoyed reading, let me know what your favorite products are in the comments box :)

Bare Minerals Eye Colour

Photo: weheartit Editiing: me

I absolutely love Bare Minerals eye colours, they are so pigmented and shimmery and I think it gives you a really pretty look. They do such a range of colours, I couldn't decide which ones to get! I decided to get two shades called Nude Beach and Serene which I can wear in the daytime because I already have quite a lot of eye-shadows which I can wear when I go out. I think I could wear these shadows when I go out though if I didn't want to go for a smokey eye look.

Nude Beach is definitely my favorite of the two because it goes with everything and can be mixed with other colours or just worn on its own. Its a nude colour with a slight hint of gold and is really shimmery and pretty. I usually wear this product on its own in the daytime and for a night time look I get a darker gold colour and fill in my crease and outer corners to give it some depth. This colour also looks great with a tan.
Serene is a really pretty pink colour which is also really shimmery, I like shimmery eye-shadows because you can wear them on their own without needing to build on them if your in a rush. I know pink eye-shadows can be hard to wear but I think this one is a really nice colour because it is so pale. I only wear this eyewash on its own because I haven't found a colour that really goes with it yet.

The only problem with this eye colour is that it does drop onto your cheek bones when your putting it on because it is a loose powder, I don't think this is a problem with these two shades because you can blend the excess into your cheek bones and they also make a great highlighter but I imagine it could be quite annoying with some of the darker shades.

I hope you enjoyed reading, let me know in the comments box what you thought of these eyeshadows and if you have tried any of the other colours!

MAC Mineralize eyeshadow in Young Punk

I've wanted this eye shadow for ages but it was out of stock everywhere for months! I finally got my hands on it and I'm now in love with it. Its so pretty to wear on nights out and makes your normal smokey eye look a little different.

This eyeshadow costs £16.50 so for some that may seem a lot but this eyeshadow is a lot bigger than MAC's normal eyeshadow so I am fine with paying this price for a good brand of eyeshadow. MAC describes the colour as black with pinkish pearl, but the eyeshadow is more purple than pink and has the prettiest purple glitter blended in with the black. The actual eyeshadow looks so
pretty in the packaging with the purple marble

I use this eyeshadow when I go on nights out because I think the purple glitter looks great when the lights catch your eyes and it gives a nice twist to a normal smokey eye or dark eye look. When I went to buy this I was torn between this shade and Blue Flame which is similar but with a blue glitter through the black. I really love purple eyeshadows and they are always the first to go in my eyeshadow palettes so I decided on young punk and always wear it when I want a smokey eye now!

Let me know what you thought of this eyeshadow in the comments :)

Benefit High Beam

Wednesday, 13 March 2013

This is another one of my favourite products which I just couldn't live without...Benefit Highbeam! Its a light pink coloured shimmery highlighter which Benefit describes as 'The make up artists secret to a healthy glow'.

I use this product in so many areas of my face to make my skin look healthier, and I think its really pretty when the light catches your cheek bones and you can see the slight shimmer. I bought this product to wear on nights out because I thought it would look great when the lights caught my face but now I use it everyday and my make up just doesn't look the same without it!

I use this highlighter underneath my brow bone to lift my eyebrows and on the tops of my cheek bones everyday but this highlighter is also really good if you use the tiniest dot on the top and bottom of your lips to make them look fuller, also it can look really nice if you use a tiny bit down the center of your nose to give a natural look.

I really love this highlighter and wouldn't look at any other brands to buy a highlighter anymore because I just think that the Benefit ones are the best on the market, when I run out I think I'm either going to buy this one again or 'Watts Up' also by Benefit for the tops of my cheek bones.

I hope you enjoyed reading, let me know in the comments if you love this highlighter or if you have tried any of the other Benefit highlighters because I'm really interested to try them!

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation

Hey everyone :) I thought I would review this foundation because I use it every time I go out and I think its such a good foundation. I bought this last year because I had been really wanting to try out a Mac foundation but wasn't sure which one to get. I spoke to a lovely lady at the Mac counter who said that this would be best for covering everything up and making my skin look completely clear without drying my skin out.

I have very fair skin so I started off with the shade NW15 which is very pale and a complete match for my skin, the only problem was that it washed me out a tiny bit so I had to use bronzer if I wanted to wear it, but because I bought this foundation for going out at night, this wasn't really a problem. Since then, I have also bought it in the shade NW25 which I use when I have fake tanned so my face matches my body but I think mixing them both together makes a really good colour for my face to give me a bit of warmth. I also sometimes mix in some Benefit Highbeam which I am going to review next, because I think it gives a subtle shimmer to your face and looks really pretty when your face catches the light.

This foundation is very thick so it might not be everybody's cup of tea but I really like it because it covers literally everything up and you don't need to use concealer with this foundation! You can see this on my hand where it has covered all the freckles and evened out the colour on my hand but you can still see all of this on my arm where I did not apply the foundation.

It is very heavy so if you don't like the feeling of foundation on your skin your probably better off using the studio fix which is more of a liquid and not as thick. I only use this on nights out because I think it would be too thick to wear in the day.

I hope you enjoyed reading and please don't hesitate to leave me any feedback in the comments box :)

Benefit Hervana Blusher

I've been wanting to try this blusher for ages so I thought I would treat myself! I love the Benefit blush boxes and think the packaging is so pretty, I used to use thrrrob and loved it but I can't find it anywhere anymore so I think it's been discontinued.

I have very fair skin so I think that pink blushers suit my skin the most instead of coral blushers which I think look better with a tan.. Benefit describes the colour as a 'Soft Orchid Blossom Flush', the blusher gives you a really pretty pink colour which doesn't look fake at all which is what I really like. I think that the packaging of this blusher is so pretty with the purple heavenly look and the 'good karma' slogan. It also comes with a mirror and an angled brush which is really good for putting the blusher on. This is my favourite blusher at the moment and has been for over a month now and I don't see it being replaced in the near future!

The blusher comes in a pinwheel design which looks so pretty in the box and has the shades 'Lucky Shell' which is a pale neutral colour with a slight shimmer, 'Divine Peach' which is a peachy colour with a golden shimmer, 'Heavenly Rose' which is a peachy pink rose colour and 'Berry Delight' which is a pinky plum colour. You can't really use the different colours on their own because they are quite small but I think that the colours work really well together and it looks so pretty if you swirl them all together!

Hope you enjoyed and don't forget to comment!

MUA Undress Me Too

Sunday, 10 March 2013

I recently bought this eye shadow palette because I really like the look of the Urban Decay Naked palette's but I can't really afford £32 for eye shadow at the moment! The MUA Undressed eye shadows are dupes for the Urban Decay Naked eye shadows and they're only £4 so I thought I would try them out.

I really like this palette because it has lots of different shades and textures so you can create loads of different looks with it. It has lots of pale neutral colours which I would use during the day and I think that colours like Shy which have a slight shimmer make really good highlighters for under your brow or in the inner corners of the eye. There are also loads of really pretty bronze colours which are really shimmery and metallic and I think that these would look really pretty on a night out, or maybe a brown smokey eye with some of the darker matte colours.

The amount of looks you can create with this palette are endless and the colours are also really pigmented which I didn't expect considering I only paid £4 for it! You can buy MUA products in most Superdrug stores and I would highly recommend trying this product out for a simple daytime look or a more glamorous night time look.

Let me know what you thought of the Undressed palette in the comments below!

Lots of Love,
