Hi Girls! I hope you're all having an amazing bank holiday weekend! I've spent mine moving house to London as I start my placement on Tuesday (scary) so all the unpacking has meant I haven't been able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine we've been having in London! I'm a massive fan of lip products, I just can't get enough of them! Sometimes I have to stop myself buying about 10 lip products when I walk past Boots as I already have so many, so you can imagine my excitement when Alison Claire Natural Beauty asked me if I wanted to try one of their lip balms.
Alison Claire make all natural beauty products which are free of harsh chemicals and use all natural ingredients meaning that their products are great for people like me who have sensitive skin. Some of their frangrances sound divine, I love fruity fragrances so all of their products appeal to me. I can't wait to get my hands on some of their citrus burst shower gel as it sounds amazing.
I received the Apricot Lip Balm (£2.50)* and I do really love it. My first impressions when I opened the little pot was that I loved the smell. This lip balm has a really lovely and strong fruity-fresh smell which I much prefer to some sweeter smells but maybe that's just me.
However, at first I didn't really love the product. It was a little hard for me so I couldn't get a lot of the product on my lips and it wasn't very moisturizing. I was so dissapointed because I loved the smell. But after a couple of hours and a little bit of heating it up with my fingers the lip balm got softer and I could apply it to my lips properly and now its super moisturizing what a difference a couple of hours can make! I think maybe while it was in the post it had been stored in some cold places which meant the lip balm was a little hard so I would definitely leave it a few hours before you start using this lip balm. It now gives my lips that sliding feeling when you rub them together (if you know what I mean?!) which I love because it makes them feel so soft and stops any of the discomfort of dry lips.
My lips aren't especially dry or cracked at the moment so I couldn't say if this product would work so well on dryer lips but I will definitely be putting this product in my handbag as the little pot is such a great handbag size. I much prefer little pots of lip balm to sticks for putting in my handbag as I always lose the stick applicators in the bottom of my bag. I don't think I'll need to replace this product again for a while too as there is quite a lot in the pot and lip balm isn't something which I often use up as I have about 5 in my handbag and I always lose them before I finish them!
Have you tried any Alison Claire products? I'm definitely going to try the lemon shampoo next!
