Benefit 'Hoola' Bronzer: Review and Swatches

Tuesday, 6 August 2013

Hi Ladies! I feel like I've finally got my blog back on track after about 2 months of it being a bit rubbish and it's such a good feeling! I spent the weekend working on my blog design which you may have noticed is a bit different and taking photos for posts and now finally feel like my life is a little more organised, so sorry for the past two months! Today I thought I would review a product I bought with my birthday money and have wanted for an absolute age: Hoola Bronzer by Benefit.

I have yet to buy a Benefit product which I haven't fallen in love with, and Hoola is no different. I've been wanting to get my hands on a new bronzer since I hit pan on my Mac one, I decided to try a new one as I wanted a matte bronzer and the MAC one just didn't have the wow factor for me. I was undecided on weather to opt for the Nars Laguna or Benefit Hoola as they're both extremely popular and it's hard to find a bad review on either but seeing as I got given a Benefit giftcard, it seemed like fate that I should go for Hoola.

When I actually saw Hoola in the shop I was a little concerned that it would be too dark for my very pale skin as my usual bronzers are quite light and usually contain a little shimmer which I think makes them look lighter in my opinion. However, when the lovely lady at Benefit sat me down and taught me how to apply it for my skin tone I changed my mind. It gave me a really healthy looking glow and suited my skin tone completely.

Hoola is a matte bronzer which makes it perfect for contouring which is what I use it for or for all over your face if you dust it lightly. The good thing about this bronzer is that its buildable which means that I can use it when I've got a tan I can build it up and it will still suit my skintone.

I'm completely in love with this bronzer and I have no regrets about buying it. It is quite expensive at £24.50 but I would say if your looking for a really great bronzer that suits most skin tones, this is perfect. It also goes great with my Watt's Up highlighter from Benefit and my Springsheen blush by Mac if I want to go for a coral/bronze and general summer look which I love!

P.s As some of you may know, I've been nominated to win 'Best New Beauty Blog' in the Cosmo Blog Awards, I'm still in shock that I was even considered but I would love it if you could vote for Lipgloss and Lashes! You can vote for me and the other contestants here

  1. I love matte bronzers so I think this one would be perfect for me! xx

  2. This does look nice, I was the same- torn between Nars Laguna and Benefit Hoola, but opted for the Nars Laguna. Nice to see a review on the other one, am very tempted to try it now :)
