Hi Lovelies! Today I went along to the MAC Pro store to replace my beloved Studio Fox powder but while I was there I was drawn to a stand at the front of the store displaying their pressed pigments, I'm not sure if these are new or not but they are all so pretty and I wanted every shade. But, at £17 each I only picked up one.
I chose the shade 'Enlightening' as I don't really own any similar shades. I loved some of the cream and golden coloured shades but I already have some shimmery cream/gold shades in my collection so I don't think I need a new one just yet. Enlightening is a silvery colour which looks kind of lilac/blue in some lights.
As these are a pressed pigment, they are super sparkly which is what drew me to them in the first place. What I love about this though is that if you just add a little bit to your lids then its very sheer and great for daytime, however is you want a more metallic or sparkly look you can build it up easily. It can also be used over the top of lots of other shades to add an extra dimension to your eye look and brighten up a matte shade.
The lovely lady at the MAC counter told me that it's best to apply this pigment on top of cream shadows or a primer as that way it will stick to your lids better but it still looked pretty on my eyes and was very pigmented over my powder eye shadow base. You also have to handle this product with care, as its a pressed pigment it's quite delicate so I think if you dropped it it would break or shatter.
As I said before, this is priced at £17 and is a little larger than the regular MAC eye shadows Although it is on the expensive side, I can see this making a regular occurrence in my make-up bag as I love it already!
Have you ever tried any of the MAC pressed pigments? I'd never heard of them before but I'm so glad I've found them now!
I've never tried these but this colour looks gorg! I still have a couple of pounds left on a MAC gift card so I might just have to go and pick one of these up!X
ReplyDeleteThere were so many things I wanted but the pressed pigments were definitely something that stood out to me! xx

This is the first one I own and I think because it's got blue/lilac in it as well that it will be more wearable than just silver xx
DeleteThe colour is really pretty, I'd love to try a pressed pigment! :)
ReplyDeleteThere was one other with I couldn't decide between, it's a really lovely creamy white one called Flicker! xx
DeleteHi Becky! I was in Mac the other day and the girl serving me had the most beautiful eyeshadow on.. I asked her what it was and she told me it was this exact pigment, with Macs Old Gold pigment pressed over the top and Swiss Chocolate blended thru the crease-it was incredible! Sadly both were out of stock tho, will look next time I am at Mac

Oh thats such a shame! They were all wearing the pressed pigments when I went in today too, that combination sounds amazing though! I was told that they look great over black or olive eyeshadow so I'm going to give that a go! xx
DeleteThat is so gorgeous! I must try a pressed pigment by MAC, they sound amazing!
