Sleek Pout Polish in 'The Afterparty': Review and Swatches

Thursday, 8 August 2013

Hi Sweets! Firstly, I'd like to apologize for the awful photos in this post. I got home from work and the lighting was just awful now that the weather has taken a turn for the worst, that's why they're blurry and a bit dark but I just wanted to get this post up! I feel like I'm on a roll at the moment with blogging so I don't want to stop now and lose my mojo again!

I thought I would do a review for you on the only Sleek product I own. I'm not really sure why this is the only Sleek product I own because I've heard their blushers are great, but everything always seems to be sold out when I go to buy it and then I usually forget the next week when I pop into Superdrug. I got this pout polish at one of the Freshers Fair's at my uni way before I started blogging and I'd never heard of Sleek before so I was keen to try it, and I love it.

Pout Polish is like a moisturizing lip stain, I think MAC do a similar product which I've seen on some other blogs. As you can see from the photos it's highly pigmented which means that a little goes a long way, I've had this for about 2 years and I still haven't hit pan on it which is great! It also contains SPF 15 which is always an added bonus as my lips are often something I forget when I'm slapping on the suncream in summer!

I have the shade 'The Afterparty' which is a really bright pink and perfect for nights out when you want a simple look with a bright lip and for the summer seasons! Another thing I love about this product is the smell, it smells sweet like vanilla, much like the smell of MAC lipsticks but it isn't too overpowering which is something I usually find with cheap lip products. The staying power is also great with this product. As it's so bright, I usually wear this on nights out where I usually find my lip colour wears off as I'm drinking, dancing, etc in a hot club however the colour of this stain stays put. It looses some of its glossyness and moisturizing feel but the colour is still there which is the main thing.

The only downside which I can think of for this product is that it's quite messy to apply. I hate applying my lip products with a brush so I use my fingers if it comes in a little pot like this and it can turn the ends of my fingers bright pink. It washes off fine but its just a hassle to have to wash it off afterwards!

What are your favourite Sleek products? Also, I'd love to know what your opinions are on me putting pictures of me wearing the product on my blog are? I haven't done this before because I was being self conscious and silly but I do think that it makes for a better review!

    1. I know, I hate bringing my MAC lipsticks with me too as I'm scared of losing them but as this is quite cheap, I could easily replace it xx
