Impulse Collaboration With Models Own - Review and Competition Entry

Sunday, 1 September 2013

Hi Ladies! Impulse is a very nostalgic brand for me. When I was in School there would always be a stray can on Impulse rattling around in the bottom of my P.E bag ready to freshen up after I did as little exercise as possible during our P.E lessons. Tease was my favourite, and everyone else's favourite too as we all paraded the school corridors smelling exactly the same, thinking we were really cool as we were wearing some kind of scent - back in the days before we all started buying perfume. But, since then I haven't heard much from Impulse and have moved on to other body sprays until I heard about their collaboration with Models Own, a brand which I love.

Impulse has come together with Models Own to create 3 fragrance and nail polish kits. The kit includes an Impulse body spray, Models own nail polish and a matching nail buffer which is always useful as I'm forever losing these. The kit costs £4.99 and is limited edition, considering I would usually pay £5 for a Models Own nail polish alone, I may as well get a body spray and nail buffer too! I was also asked to take part in their blogger challenge but I will come onto that later, I thought it would be a good idea for me to review the kits first before I start on the competition stuff - I warn you, you may want to go grab a cuppa as this may be a long post!

Impulse 'Sweet Smile' Kit - This kit is my favourite of the bunch, it's so summery and I love the smells and colours. The body spray has a pear and jasmine scent which smells like summer to me. It smells like a fruity cocktail by the beach to me - kind of fruity and sweet at the same time, and this is definitely a scent which I will use regularly. This kit comes with a nail polish called Coral Reef which is a bright red coral colour which would be perfect with a tan or in the summer. I'm wearing this on my toes now trying to prolong the summer as much as possible!

Impulse 'Very Very Pink' Kit - I would say this this is the most mature of the lot, the body spray smells very lightly fruity with more or a floral scent which to me smells very lady like and classy. Very Very Pink is an Orange and White Wood scent which as I said, reminds me of a more elegant scent. This kit also comes with 'Utopia' which is such a pretty shade and my favourite of the nail polishes. It is a kind of nude purple/pink colour and is so sophisticated and pretty on your nails if you don't want something too dramatic.

Impulse 'Very Pink' Kit - The Very Pink fragrance is a combination of Roses and Grapefruit which smells like a sweet and lightly fruity fragrance. I really love this fragrance too as I love anything which smells fruity or like vanilla so this is another one which I'll be using too. This kit comes with a dark grey colour nail polish called 'Gun Grey' which I think will look great in the winter time. I don't usually wear dark colours though as they don't suit me.

The Competition

Now, on to the competition. Impulse asked me to take part in their blogger challenge where you have to design your own bottle of Impulse and also create some nail designs for the Models Own nail polish in the kits. This sounded like great fun to me so I thought I'd give it a go and even better, the winner wins a Luxe ticket to London Fashion Weekend and another to give to a reader!

I decided to stick with the floral design theme which Impulse goes for with my bottle but I have made mine 3D by adding some flowers and gems and also some other floral designs to jazz it up a bit. I'd love to know what you think of my designs and what you'd be most excited to see at Fashion Week!
