Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins Night Cream | Review & Swatches

Saturday, 14 September 2013

Hi Ladies, If you read my blog regularly then you'll know that I was recently lucky enough to attend the Origins event as part of Company Beauty Week. I've been lusting over a few Origins face masks for a while as I've heard so many great things about them but I still haven't made a purchase as I'm trying to save some money at the moment so I can actually not freeze to death this winter and buy some jumpers for work.

In the goodie bag which we received, we were given the Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins night cream. I was so excited to try this as I don't currently use a night cream as part of my skincare routine but it was something I knew I should definitely consider. I have quite dry skin and I think using a cream specifically for night-time has helped it stay soft.

The Origins High Potency night cream is aimed at those wanting to wake up with a brighter complexion, so I thought this would be perfect for me. My skin has been looking a little dull lately as I haven't really had a chance to spend the day resting and my life has been pretty hectic, which has taken it's toll on my skin. I've been applying this cream before bed every night instead of my regular moisturiser and I have to say, I have noticed a difference. My skin hasn't been as dry and has been looking a little more awake in the mornings, even after late nights drinking!

I was concerned about the consistency of this product though. The cream is quite thick and a lot thicker than my usual moisturisers so I was slightly concerned that this would cause me to break out as my skin is very spot prone, but in fact I think it may have had the opposite effect. Since I've started using this cream and set out a regular skincare routine that I use every morning and night - my skin has been looking a lot healthier so the consistency is really nothing to worry about.

I'm not sure if I like the smell of this cream or not yet, it smells slightly citrusy but I can definitely smell a hint of either chemicals or it's just the smell of the natural ingredients - I'm not sure. The smell isn't horrible and I would say it's quite nice but It's not something that I would instantly fall in love with. Another downside of this product is the price. This little pot would have set me back £20.40 which I think is quite expensive. This is one of Origins more expensive moisturisers so there are cheaper options but I think if you are looking for something that brightens skin and leaves it feeling super soft, and don't mind paying the price for that, then this product would definitely suit you.

I have very dry skin so finding a product like this that can actually make a difference is quite rare for me and I think I will definitely be checking out some of the other Origins products which I have my eye on.
