Bare Minerals Eyeshadow in 'Vanilla Sugar' | Review & Swatches

Monday, 7 October 2013

Hello Lovelies! I have always been a huge fan of Bare Minerals eyeshadows for their colour range and pigmentation, and this one is no different. When I went to my local Bare Minerals counter to re-purchase the shade ‘Nude Beach’ the woman working there told me that ‘Nude Beach’ also looks great over ‘Vanilla Sugar’, I was unsure at first as both eyeshadows have this shimmery powdery consistency, but when she tried it out on me it looked so pretty so off I went with more than what I came in for, as usual.

‘Vanilla Sugar’ looks great as a base for other eyeshadows or on its own and I like to use it in both ways to create a number of different eye looks. The pigmentation of this eyeshadow is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, as you can see in this picture the colour pay off is great and that was from only one swipe with my eyeshadow brush so imagine what the colour would be like after you had built it up. They are also so soft to apply and have never irritated my sensitive eyes.

The only problem I have with these eyeshadows is that, as it is a loose powder, it can be quite messy so you should be careful with it and also, as they are highly pigmented you should only use a tiny weeny bit!

These cost £14 per shadow but they really do last me years, my Nude Beach eyeshadow lasted me around 5 years of frequent use which I think is pretty good going. I will definitely be heading down to my local Bare Minerals counter again soon to pick up a few other shades.

  1. I've never tried powdered eye shadow before (because I'll probably just drop it on the floor due to pure clumsiness)... Anyways, that's a gorgeous shade, a little golden even! haha, 5 years sounds like a good investment :P

  3. I love bareMinerals but I've never tried their eyeshadows before. The loose powder puts me off but I really like that colour so maybe I might give it a go.

  4. Loose powders always look so gorgeous if you can be fussed with the fall out. I've never tried bareMinerals shadows before but holy cannoli the pigmentation is gorgeous!
