L'Oreal Collection Privee 'Cheryl's Nude' | Review & Swatches

Monday, 28 October 2013

Hello Ladies! You may have heard me mention on twitter that I'm trying to save up for a new laptop as this one is currently in the process of a slow and painful death, which means bye bye MAC lipsticks and helloo drugstore! While I was browsing the isles of Boots spending ALL of my money I came across the L'Oreal Collection Privee stand and thought it looked interesting.

I'm a big lover of nude lipsticks for every day wear as I'm not really one for rocking up to work sporting a bright red pout so this whole collection appealed to me. Originally I wanted to look at 'Doutzen's Nude' as I thought that her complexion was the most similar in colour to mine (trust me, that's where the similarities end!) but when I swathed it, it was very light and a very pale pink whereas I was looking for a warmer nude.

I ended up going for 'Cheryl's Nude' because, as you can see, it's the perfect 'your lips but better' shade and is perfect for every day wear. To me, L'Oreal is towards the high end of drugstore make up so I was expecting a good quality lipstick and that's exactly what I got. The finish of these lipsticks is so similar to the MAC Cremesheen finish that I can't even tell the difference, they leave you with a lovely creamy, moisturising finish and I even think that they last longer than the MAC Cremesheen lipsticks. I almost might be a drugstore convert!

I also love the packaging of these lipsticks. I feel that one thing the drugstore is lacking in the lipstick department, is good packaging. A lot of drugstore brands tend to settle for the cheap plasticy looking packaging but I love the sleek expensive look of the Collection Privee packaging. I will definitely be going back to check out some of the other shades available and would highly recommend these lipsticks to anyone who loves a good nude lipstick. I've never really tried any L'Oreal make up products before but I have to say, I will be trying some out from now on I'm that impressed.

  6. I don't think this shade would suit me but it would be a good buy for those with blonde hair. Mabe something to add to my makeup kit.

    1. It looks so expensive considering it's a drugstore lipstick, and it's so similar to the finish and texture of MAC cremesheen lipsticks :) xx
