Luxe Oil Hair Care Range | Review

Sunday, 3 November 2013

Hello Lovelies! I hope you've all had a great weekend. This weekend I went down to Brighton to see one of my best freinds who I hadn't seen in a while. It was great to see her after so long and catch up but unfortunatly, I had my drink spiked on Friday night and spend the majority of the weekend very ill in bed which kind of ruined the weekend! I was feeling a bit guilty for not posting in a while too so I thought while I'm in bed feeling sorry for myself, I should pop up a review of some lovely products I was lucky enough to win in a twitter competition.

I won the Headlines Hair competition and received £90 worth of Luxe Oil hair products - how lucky am I?! Since recieving them I have been trying them all out and I have to say, my hair has been loving me for it. I straighten my hair a lot which means it gets quite damaged and I think the combination of these products have helped it stay soft and looking a lot less frazzled. Anyway, onto the review.

Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixr - The Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixr is the main product in the range and is effectivley a dupe for some of the better known hair oils such as Morroccan Oil and Macadamia Oil. I've tried all three of these hair oils and I have to say I prefer this one to Macadamia Oil, I'm still not sure weather it is better than Moroccan Oil but it's very close. The first thing I noticed about this product is the smell, the whole range smells so good - kind of like a sweet almond smell but not too sickly sweet. It instantly reminded me of something you would get in a hairdressers and with the bottle being glass it felt quite luxurious. One thing I loved about this oil was that it wasn't as heavy as some hair oils. I have quite oily hair which gets greasy very quickly and some of the heavier oils can make my hair get greasy quicker which is a pain as it takes me ages to wash my hair.

Luxe Oil Keratin Boost Spray - In addition to my Luxe Oil, I've been spraying this on my hair to give it some extra help in the silkiness department. I tend to spray this all over my hair, whereas I only use the oil on the ends where my hair needs it most and I've found that this spray really does help to tame some of my fly aways. I have very curly hair so when I straighten it, it can look frizzy, go static or just look a bit too fluffy. This product has really helped to tame this and given me better results from my flat iron.

Luxe Oil Keratin Protect Shampoo - I've been using this shampoo non stop recently. As my hair is quite dry, I like to use a shampoo that is moisturising and helps to de-tangle my hair as if I have to work hard to de-tangle my hair with a brush it results in more breakages and nobody wants that! This shampoo gently cleanses my hair without leaving it feeling stripped and I've never had a problem with knotty hair after using this shampoo. It helps to add some shine and life back into my hair and leaves it feeling so soft.

Luxe Oil Light Oil - This was the one product in the range that I was sure I didn't actually need, but after testing it, it is my favourite product in the range and I will definitely be repurchasing it. This oil is designed to dry instantly and add extra smoothness to the hair. I have such a problem with keeping my hair straight and smooth, as soon as I leave the house my hair is a frizzy mess and this product has really helped the situation. I just spray a little on before I leave the house and smooth down my hair and it helps to keep my hair sleek and soft. It's also great as it's so light, I often find that some 'gloss drops' type products designed to so the same thing weigh my hair down and can leave it looking a little greasy, so this is the perfect alternative for me.

Luxe Oil Keratin Restore Mask - This is by far the most luxurious in the range. I usually like to use a hair mask when I'm having a relaxing pamper night. Nothing beats a good bath and some luxurious products to make you feel better. I usually tend to use my Macadamia hair mask but recently I've been reaching for this one instead as I find the finish much better than the Macadamia mask. I love the Macadamia mask as it makes my hair feel so soft and helps to repair some of the damage I put my hair through but I do find that sometimes my hair needs washing the next day as it is quite thick and heavy. This mask is just as moisturising but instead of leaving my hair feeling heavy and like it needs another wash, it feels light and 'flippy' is that makes any sense!

  3. I have been using the Luxe Oil for nearly one year now ( last year christmas present from my mum :) ) and I love it! It smells divine, makes my hair all soft and shiny and it lasts ages since you just need 2 or 3 drops each time.
