Sleek Brow Kit | Review & Swatches

Tuesday, 3 December 2013

Hello Lovelies! I hope your all having a fab day, I've got some time off work this week to look after the cats while my Mum and Dad are in New York so I've got plenty of time to catch up with blogging and start scheduling posts for December as it's set to be a very busy month!

Recently my Benefit Browzings has been running dangerously low but with it being nearly Christmas I didn't want to splurge on a high end brow kit, so I went off in search of a drugstore dupe. I have to say, there is not much on the high street at the moment for your brows, I definitely think high street brands are missing a trick here. I originally went to pick up the MUA brow kit but the lady in Superdrug informed me that has been discontinued, so I went with the Sleek brow kit which costs around £8, or about half of the Benefit option.

Sleek only offer this kit in two shades - light or dark - so I think if you're blonde or brunette this would be perfect for you but if your somewhere in the middle or quite dark haired, then this may not suit you, but definitely go check it out as you never know. The kit comes with a brow setting wax which is tinted, a brow powder which you can either use to set the wax or on its own, mini tweezers and all the brushed you'll need to use the kit.

I like to firstly use the wax to shape and set my brows so they won't move throughout the day or become mis-shaped, using the little angled brush provided with the kit. I then set the wax with the powder in the kit which creates a more natural and soft look so you're not looking too harsh.

Overall, I love this kit and I'm amazed at how similar it is to the Benefit Browzings. The colour, consistency and packaging are all very similar so if you want to try the Browzings but are unsure about spending that much money on your brows, then this is a great drugstore alternative.

  2. I bought this in the summer but am yet to try it - There's something about Sleek packaging that makes me not want to ruin it! Excited to try it now!

If you're looking for an even cheaper option, yesterday I saw 17 in Boots has just launched its own kit with powder, wax, highlighter, pencil and brush - wow! It's £6 but from what I remember it's free with 17 purchases over £8 I think. And - stop press - I've just checked the website and it's limited edition! Another cheeky lunchtime trip to Boots today I think!

  9. I've recently bought brow zings and this kit looks literally identical to it, down to the brushes! Definitely might give Sleek's version a go when I start running low, I've loved every product I've tried of theirs so far! MUA's pro-brow kit is also fab and so cheap!

  10. I do love it when you find a cheaper alternative to something that you normally use that's bitty pricy. Least I know what to try if I run low on mine and cant afford my high end one.

Hope you don't mind hun but I have nominated you for The Sunshine Award! I have posted a link to it, would be lovely if you take part :)
