e.l.f Lip Glosses | Review & Swatches

Tuesday, 14 January 2014

Hello Lovelies! I hope your all having a great week and monday didn't hit you too hard! This is going to be the last one of the elf posts for a while as I've done so many recently and I don't want to bore you all! Part of my recent giveaway prize was this collection of their 'glossy gloss' and 'glitter gloss' lip glosses. I got quite a varied range of shades and finishes and I've been really impressed with them so far.

One thing I usually hate about lipglosses is the sticky feeling they leave you with. I'm really cautious about buying new lipgloss and only ever buy them if I don't think they are sticky so I was really pleased that when I used these they weren't sticky at all. I could hardly even feel these on my lips which was brilliant but the shine and colour pay off were still there don't worry!

You can see by the picture that these glosses are quite pigmented for a lipgloss which I love as it means you can just wear these on their own instead of having to apply them over lipstick to get a good colour payoff. I took a picture with the flash on to show how glossy these are as you can never usually tell from some swatch pictures. The colours are (L-R): Funky Fuchsia, Crystal Cranberry, Sparkling Wine, Golden Glitz, Muted Mauve, Berry Blush, and Dazzling Diamond.

The only thing I don't like about these glosses is the applicator. The brush applicator on these is quite small and stuff meaning that you have to apply a couple of strokes to completely cover your lips. This isn't a massive issue but it is something that elf could improve.

Overall, I love these lipglosses and elf have continued to impress me with their products. The quality of most of their products is so great compared to what you pay and I will definitely be ordering from them once I've worked my way through everything I already have.

  5. These look lovely! The colours are really pretty, but I agree with you the applicator looks more like for nail varnish than lips!

  7. There are some cute colours but glosses don't usually tend to suit me, I'm more of a lipstick girl! Hope you don't mind me asking, but what font do you use for your text?X
