e.l.f Mineral Lipglosses | Review & Swatches

Thursday, 2 January 2014

Hello Beauties! Sorry to bore you all with another elf product review but I have so much to get through! I'm trying to stage them and do other reviews and FOTD's etc so you don't all get too bored but I really wanted to write a post today and at the moment I only have elf products photographed! I promise to take some more photos this weekend to add a bit of variety if the weather allows!

I used to be a huge lipgloss fan, as in I had every shade of pink a girl could ever need, but recently I've gone off lipgloss and moved to lipsick because I'm not a fan of the sticky feeling that lipgloss leaves on your lips. However, these lipglosses don't have that effect at all, instead they have that slippery feel that a good lipgloss should have, which is amazing really considering the price tag!

I won three colours of these mineral lipglosses, they are (L-R): Wild which is a really lovely coral pink colour that I can see myself getting a lot of use out of, Trophy Wife (love that name!) which looks very golden in the packaging but is actually a clear gloss with very fine golden shimmer - think that one would look fab over lipstick in the summer. And lastly, Daring which is a pinky red colour, but it's sheer enough for me to feel comfortable wearing.  As you can probably tell from the photograph, these are quite sheer but I quite like that as it means I can apply it over lipstick and still see the lipstick colour or just wear them on their own for a more low key look.

Another think I love about these are the packaging. The little tubes remind me to much of the MAC lipglosses and the simplicity of the packaging make them look way more high end than they actually are. So far, I'm really impressed with all of the elf products I've tried. I'm really trying to get into drugstore make up this year as I'm trying to save up for a laptop and hopefully a holiday, so when something this cheap is good quality it's smiles all around!

  2. Although the colours look lovely, I HATE lipglosses so I don't think I'd get on too well with these.

  5. I feel the exact same way about most lip glosses. I hate that sticky feeling, so there are only certain brands that I like. These look quite pretty though!

    1. These are a lot less sticky than some other brands I've used, if you don't like the sticky feeling but still like the glossy look then I would recommend these! xx

  8. I don't own many lipglosses because of how sticky a lot of them are. May have to give these a go though if they are not sticky. Daring looks like a nice shade
