Max Factor Face Finity All Day 3-in-1 Foundation | Review

Saturday, 4 January 2014

Hello Ladies! This year I'm trying to save up some money for a new laptop and holiday, instead of spending all of my money on things which, while they are pretty, I don't really need so you'll be seeing a lot more drugstore reviews from now on! Recently my skin has really been playing up, its been very oily and very spotty and I've not really been happy with the way my foundations have been lasting on my skin throughout the day. By lunchtime on a work day, my foundation has gone very shiny and quite patchy so off I went to Boots to find something promising to last all day.

The Max Factor Face Finity All Day 3-in-1 Foundation (what a mouthful!) combines a primer for a long lasting look, concealer for coverage, and foundation for finish. It almosts sounds too good to be true, but since using this I have noticed that my foundation has been lasting a lot longer than usual. This is quite a dry foundation with a natural matte finish so I think it would be perfect for people with oily skin. My skin is usually quite dry but it gets oily throughout the day and while I find this to be quite drying on my skin, it doesn't pick up on any flakies which is what I was looking for.

Since using this my foundation does last all day and I only need to apply powder at about 2pm if I put my make up on at 7am as usual, which isn't bad going for me as I used to have to powder at about 11am! I would say that this is a medium to full coverage, it covers all of my smaller marks and spots but I still feel the need to add some concealer over some of my larger spots or if my skin is particularly bad like it is now. I also love the fact that it comes with a pump aplicator. In my opinion, Max Factor is at the top end of drugstore as it is slightly more expensive than other drugstore brands so I would expect the little extras, like having a pump, which a lot of brands just don't do...don't get me started on MAC and Nars not offering a free pump with their £20+ foundations!

Overall, I really do like this foundation for days when I'm at work or I know I have a long busy day ahead of me and I would reccomend it if you have oily skin or you find yourself having to powder a lot throughout the day. This foundation costs £11.95 but is on offer at Superdrug at the moment so you can get it for £8.95 (plus 10% off with a student card!) so now is a great time to pick it up if your wanting to give it a go.

  3. Although I don't have oily skin I do like the idea of the 3 in 3 foundation, I think even a 2 in 1 (primer anf foundation) would be a good idea, and it makes sense really, and would be so much easier to match that matching your primers to foundations! I know what yo mean about the pump, although I have not coming across this myself (except L'oreal which I don't use often) I am thinking about buying Nars sheer glow and don't like the face I need a pump (unless I want to make a mess!) too at a cost!

  6. I really want to give this a go, I don't think I've ever tried a Max Factor foundation before or many of their products for that matter. Good to know you liked this xxx

  7. I think the packaging on this is nice. The concept of a 3 in 1 is always alluring to me AND it's affordable. Thanks for posting!

  8. I do like Max Factor foundations. I used to use one of their liquid foundations, I can't remember what it was called now, and my go to foundation is their Facefinity compact powder foundation. They are a little more pricey than other drugstore foundations but I think they're worth it x

  10. Looks great, and affordable. I totally agree with the no pump on MAC/NARS, sucks!

  11. This sounds great! I'm not usually one to splurge out on massively expensive beauty products. Try the Revlon colour stay foundation too, they have ranges which are aimed at different skin types.. That's also not too pricey at £12.50 :) thanks for the post, will give this a whirl xxx
