Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Brightening Toner

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner

When it comes to skincare, Clarins has always been one of my go to brands. It's one of those brands which I remember from when I was a little girl, as it's always something my Mum used and so far, I've never been dissapointed with any of their products, although some of them are a little out of my budget - but hey, I'd give up nice food for a week to have great skin!

This year, I've been making more of an effort to invest in my skincare and I'm already seeing the benefits of doing this - I've had less breakouts, redness and dryness already and it's only just March. But one thing which I found was missing from my skincare routine was a good toner, I've always been one of those people who never really saw the point in using a toner, until I actually bothered to do a bit of research into what they do. Toners are meant to be used after cleansing to restore your skin's pH balance and also tighten pores, leaving your skin feeling refreshed, looking younger and feeling smoother. I read a lot more into this and you can find out all sorts of information on what toners are best for you, etc just by giving it a quick google. I found this article by Paula's Choice to be very informative if your interested.

I decided to buy the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner after receiving a lot of recommendations from you lovely lot, telling me that this was the best toner you've ever used and you weren't wrong! I have a bit of an obsession with exfoliating my face, I do it pretty much every other night so having something which will help me with this without being abrasive appealed to me. This is also a better way to exfoliate your skin if you have a problem with spots as it exfoliates your skin without breaking the spot and spreading the bacteria across your face, therefore spreading the break out - lovely I know!

This toner contains Tamarind for gentle exfoliation and to rid your skin of all of those nasty dead skin cells without stripping your skin of all of its natural goodness and White Nettle to refine your pores and tone the skin, leaving you with a smooth feel to your skin. The liquid is slightly thicker than water, which surprised me at first, as other Clarins toners that I've tried have been very liquidy (if that's a word!).

I've been using this toner for a couple of weeks now, and I can honestly say I've noticed a great improvement in my skin. When I started using this toner, I had quite a lot of tiny bumps on my skin which would show up when I applied my foundation and powder, but since using this toner they've virtually dissapeared and my skin now looks fresher and smoother when I apply my make up. I've also been experiencing less dryness which I've always suffered with, due to the exfoliating aspects of this toner. As for the brightening qualities, I can honestly say my skin has had more of a glow to it since I've been using this, so it's amazing at beating that winter dullness.

As you can probably already tell, I'm so impressed with this toner and I've honestly never tried a better one. Clarins has done it again and I can see myself repurchasing this as soon as it starts running low. I bought this from Escentual for £20, as they seem to sell it £5 cheaper than anywhere else, so if your thinking about trying this out, I'd definitely reccomend getting it from there!

  4. I just applied this product! I've been enjoying it but I haven't seen the most dramatic difference yet. I see a difference though! I've been using it for the past nearly two months now and I do enjoy it.
