Wantable Subscription Box | Review

Wednesday, 5 February 2014

Hello Ladies! Today I'm going to be introducing a new subscription box which is soon to be available in the UK. I've never really tried subscription boxes before as I'm not too sure that they are worth the money and would usually rather save the money and buy one full size product. However, the Wantable subscription box always comes with full size products from leading US brands.

You can either choose a make up or accessories box depending on what your in to, obviously I went for the make up box this time. Wantable provide customers with handpicked, boutique makeup, accessories and intimates in a monthly subscription box, which you can also buy as a one off. I think the great thing about this service is that it is personalised so you only get bits that you are interested in, and you can also return the box, no questions asked, if you are unhappy with what you have recieved.

Anyway, on to what I received in this  month's box:

1. NCLA Nail Polish in Not So Sweet - Whoever picked my box for me clearly knew me quite well, as I'm a sucker for any kind of pastel nail varnish, pink being my favourite. Not So Sweet is a classic pastel pink colour which I think looks so classy with my pale skin. NCLA are also completely against animal testing and their products contain no harmful substances like formaldehyde which is also a bonus.

2. Billion Dollar Brows Universal Pencil - I've only ever heard great things about Billion Dollar Brows so I was so excited to receive one of their eyebrow pencils in my box. The Universal Brow Pencil is a medium to dark brown pencil so I don't think it would be good for any of you blonde girls, which comes with a retractable, twist up pencil and spoolie on the other end to brush out your brows. I love this brow pencil and it leaves my brows looking defined but not drawn on, because the Crayola look will never be in!

3. Lise Watier Cream Eyeshadow Sample - This was the only non full size product in the box and was added in as a little extra in this months box. It comes with quite large samples of two of their 'Souffle Eyeshdows' which I love. Recently, I've been loving using cream eyeshadows as a base for my more shimmer powder eyeshadows and these last all day long without creasing - perfect!

4. Michael Marcus Prime Brush - Admittedly, this is a brand which I've never heard of, but I was informed that this brush would have set me back $20 if I had bought it on its own, so its no wonder that I was impressed by the quality of this brush. I'm always on the hunt for more make up brushes as I always find that I never have enough to have one in the wash and one in use, which would make my life so much easier. The Prime Brush is very similar to a foundation brush except a little smaller, which makes it perfect for applying concealer around your eyes and nose, or if you want a precision brush.

5. La Bella Donna Lip Sheer in 'Grappa' - Much like the Stila lip glosses, this lip sheer has a brush and a button to press to get the product out. I love the packaging of this gloss as it looks so sleek and sophisticated. I was given the shade Grappa which is a wine red colour, not really something I would always go for but as this is more of a sheer lipgloss rather than a lip laquer, I can still wear it and feel comfortable wearing it. This is also a really smooth, non sticky formula which is what I look for when buying lip glosses.

What do you think of the Wantable box? I'll be updating this post as soon as I know the exact date of when Wantable will be coming to the UK!

  2. Reading this post as an American I feel like I should say that none of these are "leading brands" more like up and coming brands? I've only heard of BDB from this group!

    1. Sorry I must have been misinformed by the brand :( I've heard of them before in the UK but we don't have the other brands here in the UK. x

  3. I desperately want to subscribe to this box. I've been a Glossybox subscriber for nearly a year now and lately it's been nothing but disappointing, but this box looks incredible! Then again, it probably should be better considering the price difference. So worth it though. I'm subscribing on pay day!

Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful box.

  4. Wantable is already open for orders from the UK! Or did you mean they were starting a UK-based one? That would be cool. I ordered mine at the end of January and got it yesterday - you can see my review at http://opinionsandthings.com/ - we both got the makeup brush but apart from that mine is totally different :)
