YSL Touche Eclat Foundation | Review

Thursday, 20 February 2014

Hello Lovelies! I hope your all having a fab week, and don't worry if you aren't because it's nearly the weekend! This weekend I'm going to Pro Beauty which I'm so excited about. I've heard that Elemis, Clarins and Claudelie are going to be there so I'm excited to buy some new skincare, as it's something I've become a lot more interested in this year. Anyway, today I thought I would pop up a review of one of my all time favourite and most repurchased foundations, the YSL Le Tient De Touche Eclat, otherwise know as the YSL Touche Eclat Foundation.

When this foundation was first released I was given a little sample pot by the lovely lady who worked on my local YSL counter and as much as I didn't want to fall in love with the foundation, I couldn't help it. As soon as it was released I picked up a full size bottle and since then, I've gone through another 2 bottles. Foundations aren't really something I repurchase that often as I'm always on the look out for the next best thing, but this is one of those products I feel like I need in my collection at all times.

The YSL Touche Eclat foundation is a dewy finish foundation designed to give you that radiant, healthy glow that so many of us strive for. I'd say this was a medium coverage foundation, which you can build up if you feel like you need to, but I feel like if you do that then you lose some of its brilliant qualities. The foundation feels lightweight on your skin which is something I love about this product, there's nothing I hate more than feeling like I've got a face caked in foundation. This foundation also smells really nice, it's hard to explain but it smells kind of fresh, which I love.

As I said, this is a dewy foundation, so if you do have very oily skin then this one may not be the best for your skin type as it does have a tendency to slide a little on very oily skin. My skin usually starts out quite dry but by lunch time my skin has started to get quite oily, and I find that this foundation is okay as long as I set it with a bit of powder and keep my compact with me for touch ups, which I find necessary with all foundations.

Another thing I love about this foundation is the colour range. I have the shade BD10 which is one of the lightest yellow toned shades, but the shade range is very varied and ranges from very pale to very dark, all with neutral, yellow and pink toned variations on each shade. As there are so many shades available, I would reccomend that you go get colour matched at your local counter, that way you won't make any expensive mistakes!

I seriously do love this foundation and it really is one that I find hard to fault. I don't use this every day anymore as some days I prefer a more matte finish, and also as this is quite an expensive foundation I don't want to waste this on an ordinary day!

  5. You're totally right, for those of oily skin this foundation is a no-go (although I wish I could wear it). But I've tried the YSL 'Youth Liberator' Serum Foundation and it works so much better for me!
