Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum | Review

Saturday, 29 March 2014

Hello Ladies! Today I have yet another skincare review for you, but I promise this will be the last one for a while! I'm really happy with my skincare routine at the moment, and my skin has been a lot happier too so I'm not looking to add anything more into the mix as I don't want to risk upsetting my skin again.

I recently received the Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum* from Escentual to test out and I've been pleasantly surprised with the results. This serum is essentially a highly concentrated version of the Avene Thermal Spring Water, and although I've just said I won't be buying anymore skincare, I'm very tempted to pick up the thermal water!

The Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum is designed to hydrate and nourish sensitive skin. My skin is definitely sensitive and breaks out at almost anything, even products that claim to be for sensitive skin, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this serum worked really well for my skin. The light weight almost gel like texture felt velvety soft on my skin and sunk in really nicely, without leaving any horrible stickiness behind.

I like to apply this before my moisturizer and since using this over the past couple of weeks I've found that my dry patches have been a thing of the past. I use this twice a day as it makes my skin feel so fresh, smooth and supple - it really has worked wonders for me. The product comes in a glass bottle with a pump, making it look and feel high end, although in reality its not that expensive and it smells divine, like something you'd find at a spa.

I'd really reccomend using this serum if you supper from dry sensitive skin as it's really make a difference to my skin and helped keep those uncomfortable dry patches at bay. Escentual currently have a third off all french pharmacy products, making this just over £12 instead of £18, so if your thinking of picking it up, now would be a good time as everyone loves a bargain!

  1. I've just reviewed this too, it's such a great product! I'd definitely get the water! I use it before applying this serum and my skin feels amazing!
