Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer | Review

Friday, 21 March 2014

Hi Ladies! With one of my recent Clarins orders I was given a couple of samples, and one I was really excited to try was the Instant Smoother Perfecting Touch primer, as I've heard a lot about it on other beauty blogs.

Much like the Maybelline Baby Skin and Benefit Porefessional, the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting touch helps to minimise pores and blur imperfections - all while helping your make up stay put for longer, and so far, I'm really pleased with the results.

I have combination skin, so I have quite an oily t-zone and quite cry cheeks and I find that this primer works well on both skin types as it helps to smooth over my oily pores and help them appear reduced while not drying out my dry areas further. This also goes some way to reduce the redness I have on my skin caused by spots, making it easier for my foundation to cover any blemishes that I do have.

Although this is a bit more expensive than the Benefit Porefessional, a much loved primer in the blogging world, I find that it's completely worth paying the extra. This primer really does sink into your skin instead of sitting on top like I found the Porefessional did, and it also doesn't come with that tacky feeling that I find the Porefessional leaves me with.

Overall, I really like this primer and I've been really happy with the results. I find that this sinks into my skin well and works on both of the skin types I've got going on, while really helping to reduce my pores and smooth over any imperfections. This is only a sample size, but I've hardly even made a dent yet and I've been using this daily for about 3 weeks now, which really shows that a little goes a long way with this primer. I'm already looking into buying the full size of this, but I think it'll have to be a payday treat one month as it's quite pricey at £26 a pop.

  3. I have also read and heard so much about this and it does sound really lovely, especially if it sinks into your skin rather than sit on top x

  6. Every time I see Kate post about this I'm tempted to buy it. I never got on with Porefessional either, so I think this is next on my list.

    1. It's really hard to describe! I'd say it has kind of a whipped texture, and it's a mix between a cream and a gel. Sorry I couldn't give you a better description! xx

    1. Hi Georgia, I haven't tried too much of their skincare, but I'd really reccomend their Gentle Exfoliating Brightening Toner, their eye make up remover and their cleansing cream :) xx
