March Favourites

Monday, 31 March 2014

Hi Ladies! I honestly can't believe that it's the last day of March already, I know everyone says this but 2014 really is flying by, although I probably won't be saying that after Summer is over and I'm back at Uni! I've been trying a lot of new products out this month, and most of them have replaced some of my old favourites, so I couldn't not include them in my Monthly Favourites.

Fake Bake Flawless Liquid Tan - First up is the 'Flawless' liquid tan from Fake Bake. I never usually talk about fake tanning products on here as for years now I've had a spray tan if there was ever an occasion that called for a golden glow, but since I moved away from home and my spray tanning machine, I've had to look into other methods of tanning. When I was browsing my local TK Maxx earlier in the month I came across a huge selection of Fake Bake products, all for under £10 so I thought that it would be a good time to try out some of their, usually quite expensive products. I'm usually more of a mousse tan girl, but I'm so glad I changed things up a bit and bought one of their liquid tans as its the best tan I've ever used. All you do is spray a bit onto the mitt which is included in the pack and then rub it into your skin. It dries really quickly so you aren't left with that horrible sticky feeling that most fake tans have and it smells amazing. It has a really lovely tropical scent which lasts on your skin, instead of turning into that horrible biscuit smell. This isn't the darkest tan ever, but one coat will give you a nice golden glow if your pale like me - so it's perfect if you don't want to go too dark, or if you do they have a darker version available.

Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil* - This little bottle really is the stuff of miracles. I apply a few small drops every night before bed, and it's completely changed my skin. Although my skin is typically quite oily at the moment, I do suffer with dry patches on my cheeks and across my forehead, and this oil has prevented them completely, and cured them whenever one has appeared. My overall complexion has been looking a lot better and my skin has been looking clearer - this truly is a wonder product.

The Balm Lipgloss in The Girl Next Door - I actually bought this lipgloss back in summer from & Other Stories in London but I've recently rediscovered it. These lipglosses really do have the best formulas - they aren't sticky, they're moisturising and they smell like banoffee pie! This shade is like the lipgloss version of Speed Dial lipstick from MAC, a personal favourite of mine. It's a great standard pink shade that would flatter any skin tone, it really is just beautiful.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid - This foundation is a fairly recent addition to my make up collection, but it's one I've had my eye on for some months now. After being sick of having a shiny face all day, every day, I decided it was time that I invested in a good matte foundation and I'm so glad I chose this one. It's the perfect colour match for me and it stays put all day. I do find that I need to powder at around 2pm but even then, my foundation is still in place and hasn't slid down my face.

Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Rose* - This lipstick has been my go to for this month. Since receiving it at the beginning of the month I've worn it non stop as it's such a pretty shade for spring. The formula of this lipstick is also why I love it, it has a creamy buttery formula that glides onto your lips effortlessly and is super moisturising. Rose is a rosy pink colour that is almost a berry shade. I don't usually go for berry lips but for some reason this colour works really well with my skin tone. This lipstick is sold in a pack of 3 which retail for £20, making them around £7 each, so you can get your hands on these from QVC for drugstore prices - what's not to love!

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Blush in Peach Passion* - For ages now I've been searching for the perfect peach blusher and I've finally found it. Peach Passion is a really pretty shimmery peach shade, so it also doubles up as a highlighter for me and is the perfect shade for spring. It's a lot like a more toned down version of Springsheen blush from MAC which is another favourite of mine. It's also buttery smooth and the shimmer is super finely milled, so don't worry, you won't look like you've just rolled in glitter!
