Dirty Looks HK Hair Extensions | Before & After Review

Monday, 14 April 2014

Hi Ladies! First off, sorry I haven't posted here as much as I usually do over the weekend! This weekend I was travelling home for the week as I've got some time off work and there was just no time to blog in between sorting things out like my phone, meals out and catching up! Anyway, today I thought I would post a review of some hair extensions that I've been trying out over the past two weeks.

When it comes to hair extensions, they have always been something that I've wanted to try, but I've never taken the plunge and bought any as I've always been worried about the colour match and how natural they would look. The set I've been trying are the full head of HK Hair Extensions from Dirty Looks*. If your a bit of a novice like me, I'd really reccomend going for the full head of extensions as they give you the most natural finish and the most body.

After speaking with one of their colour specialists and sending a couple of pictures of my hair over, I was matched to Hot Toffee which I got in the 16-18" length. I  found the colour matching service so helpful as I really had no clue which shade of brown to pick and Hot Toffee was a perfect match for my hair so I really would reccomend getting in touch with them about your colour before you buy. The HK Hair Extensions come in a couple of different lengths but I decided to go for 16-18" as when I bought them, my hair was slightly longer, so I would have just been using the hair extensions for volume, not length. However, since then, I've had my hair cut considerably shorter so I am now using the extensions for length too. 16 - 18" was the perfect length for me as I didn't want them to look too long, as they can easily look un-natural then.

The full set comes with 10 wefts, including a quad weft, all made from 100% Remy human hair. Since recieving these I can really tell the difference between the synthetic hair pieces I have previously tried and the remy human hair, and I'd definitely reccomend paying the extra for real hair as it just blends to much easier and looks so much more natural.

The set comes with lots of different size wefts, all with clips, making them so easy to apply and the different lengths make the set look really natural once they are in. It also comes with a really handy instruction booklet showing you where to place the extensions, which are all numbered - I honestly didn't have a clue how to apply them without this booklet so it definitely came in handy!

It took me about 15 mins to get the full set in, but I'm sure I'll be able to get them in quicker once I've had some practice, and if you can't already tell - I love these extensions! You can see in the before and after pictures just how natural they look. They don't feel too heavy and once you've had them in a while you can't even tell they are there. The hair is really good quality and blends into your own hair effortlessly. The result is longer, fuller hair without having to grow it out. Also, as this is human hair, you can style it however you like without worrying about using heat - I personally think these would look great curled for a night out.

Overall, I love these extensions and I adore the way they make my hair look. If you are interested or need some more information you can find it all here. The HK Full Head Hair Extensions are also on offer at the moment on the Dirty Looks website, so you can pick them up for just £69.99 instead of £87.49.

  1. I have a set of HK extensions. Even though I don't really wear them nowadays they are a great colour match and feel really silky. I'm tempted to get them out again to do some creative hairstyles :)
