April Favourites

Hello Beauties! I hope you've all had an amazing week and are ready for the bank holiday weekend! This weekend I'm actually going out (it's more of a rare occasion now) so I'm super excited to get all dressed up! I'm sure it comes as no surprise to you that I am yet again shocked at how quick the year is going. I now have under 2 months left in London before I move back home to finish my degree, and there are still SO many things I want to see and do before I leave! Anyway, enough rambling, I'll get on with what you all came here to see!

My first favourite this month is the Benefit Hervana blusher. I adored this blusher when I first bought it, then I found other blushers and it sadly got pushed to the back of the pile. After Easter when I was travelling back to London I decided to leave a lot of my make up at home to make it easier to fit everything in one car when I move out in June, which is when I rediscovered this blusher. It gives you the perfect warm pink flush and looks great during Spring.

Another thing I've been loving this month is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. My trusty Maybelline Fit Me came to an end and instead of spending money on a new one, I decided to use up what I had. This concealer works really well for dark circles and blends into your foundation effortlessly. I find the Wake Me Up aspect great for dark circles as it really does have a brightening effect on your eyes. Also, I love dewy make up for spring, and this concealer has been the perfect companion for my YSL Touche Eclat foundation.

Only one skincare item has made its way into my favourites this month, and it's the Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner. I mentioned that I wanted to try this toner a while ago, and as my Mum had a sample she gave it me to try. This deluxe sample sized bottle is still going strong about 2 weeks later, even with almost every day use showing that a little goes a long way with this product. What I love about this toner is that it's gentle enough to use on my sensitive skin every day, but it still gets the job done. This toner is really effective at getting any last bits of cleanser off your skin and keeping it smooth and clear, so I definitely think I will be purchasing the full size in the future.

Another thing I've been loving this month is the Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl mascara. It's a bit of a mouthful to say, but it really does give great results. I'm probably not the best person to review mascara, as I have quite thick, long and curly lashes naturally (one of the only benefits of having curly hair) but this mascara really does hold the curl and makes your lashes appear a lot longer than they would naturally. The wand is curved and is the perfect shape to cover all of my lashes in one coat, even the small ones in the corners and I think this mascara will definitely be something I will repurchase.

My last favourite this month is the Trish McEvoy Precision Brow Shaper*. I really didn't think I'd like this product as I'm not a fan or brow pencils regularly. I usually find that they make my brows look drawn on and generally not in a good way, however the precision that this pencil gives makes them look a lot softer than a regular brow pencil. It is a retractable pencil so no sharpening and is incredibly soft. I just use tiny strokes to go through my brows and I find that I don't need to use any other products on my very sparse brows. The other end also has a spoolie so you can brush your brows through to make them look even more natural, but I find that it isn't really necessary as the pencil itself does such a great job.

  9. I've had my eyes on Benefit Hervana for a while now. I really love it in the box but I'm not sure if it will look good on me. I will have to try it on in stores and see how it goes. xx
