Life Update: Moving Home

Monday, 30 June 2014

Hello Beauties! I don't often share that much about my life here on my blog, because you never really know who reads this, and mainly because nobody cares, but while I'm sat relaxing in my garden at home for what feels like the first time in forever ( I can't help singing along to Frozen whenever somebody says this), there's no better time than now to update you all on what I've been up to and what life has in store for me.

If you've read my blog or follow me on twitter, or if you've met me in person, then you'll know that for the past year I've been living in London and having the time of my life working for Disney. As I was on a 1 year placement with the company, my time there coming to an end was inevitable, but I honestly never expected to be sad about the start of Summer. I really did have an amazing time at Disney and I don't know how life is going to beat that, it can't get much better right? Friday came with lots of tears (pretty much Niagara Falls) and lots of panic packing as I was moving out on Saturday afternoon.

This weekend was spent driving back down to Bournemouth and trying to cram all of my stuff into my new room. I've never actually lived in this house before, despite it being my parents house, as I moved out three years ago, so trying to fit all of my stuff in to my room has proved to be a bit of a struggle! I absolutely love my new room though, it's decorated exactly how I would have decorated it, and I finally have some proper make up storage (I'll be doing a post on this soon)!

So, what does the future hold for me? Now that I've finished my placement at Disney, I'm currently enjoying having nothing to do (apart from Uni work that I'm putting off). It doesn't happen often so I plan on enjoying every second of it. Apart from that, I will soon be starting a new job with Benefit Cosmetics! I've been hired as one of their make up artists/sales assistants on their counter and I'm so excited to start! Beauty is slowly taking over my life (and my bedroom!) and now it'll be part of my work too! I'm a bit nervous to start too, as I've never worked on a make up counter before and I really don't know what to expect.

Other than that, pretty soon I'll be jetting off to Miami for my 21st Birthday and I honestly can't wait! I haven't been out of the country for about 3 years so a holiday in the sun is very much overdue. I'm really excited for the long days relaxing in the sun, and the shopping! I've been saving up for months now so that I can splurge on American goodies, so if you have any recommendations for things I should pick up, I'd love to know! Also, while I am away I will hopefully be having some gorgeous guest bloggers taking over my blog, as I won't be able to update it for about 2 weeks, so if you are interested, please email any ideas you have over to me at rebeccaderbyshire93@gmail.com.

So that's basically everything that's been going on at the moment, so please bear with me while I sort out finding time to take photographs and get my posts written up!

Lots of Love,

Becky xx

MAC Amethyst Pressed Pigment | Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties! Sorry there has been a bit of disruption to my usual posting schedule and I didn't manage to get any posts out this weekend! On Friday I finished my placement at Disney Channel which meant a lot of tears, celebrating and moving out, which have all contributed to me not having enough time to schedule any posts. I had an amazing year at Disney and I was so sad to leave (even though it hasn't sunk in yet that I won't be going back), but you didn't click on this post to hear all about my year in London, right? Exactly, so I'll get on with the post!

As one of my leaving presents, Toby and Haamid who work in my team got me a very generous MAC voucher, I really wasn't expecting to get anything so I was shocked and over the moon to receive such a thoughtful gift...which I immediately went and spent! Amongst other things, one of the things I decided to treat myself to was this beautiful pressed pigment called Amethyst.

MAC Amethyst is a purple pressed pigment with silver undertones and it's just oh so pretty. Amethyst creates a beautiful purple wash of shimmer across your lid which is just stunning. I'm a big lover of glittery or metallic eyeshadows, and I'm a big fan of the loose pigments, so this was a no brainer for me. The MAC Pressed Pigments offer you all of the beauty of their regular pigments, with none of the fall out, which is usually my only concern when it comes to buying pigments.

At £17, these babies don't come cheap but for me they're worth every penny. They're so pigmented and glide on to your lids like a dream, and you just can't get this level of sparkle from regular MAC eyeshadows.

Lots of Love,

Say Goodbye To Shine

Friday, 27 June 2014

Hello Beauties! Last week the lovely Kayleigh from Couture Girl kindly let me guest post on her blog. I was so excited when she offered me the opportunity as I've been a big fan of hers since I started blogging! I thought I'd also share the post on my own blog, just incase any of you missed it and wanted to catch up - but I'm sure most of you have already seen it on Kayleigh's so sorry about that!

I've always had to deal with shine, and during the Summer months I tend to suffer from make up meltdown a lot more than I would during winter. If you suffer from oily skin or a shiny face, you really do need to start with your skincare. If you tackle the problem with your skincare, your mattifying make up won't have to work so hard - meaning your make up will last a lot longer. One of my favourite cleansers for oily skin is the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Tamarind. This really works to deep clean your skin and helps to reduce the amount of oil that your skin produces, without drying out your skin. Another product which is amazing for oily skinned girls is the REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask. This mask really helps to reduce the appearance of pores and control the amount of oil that your skin produces. I love using this once a week and find that it helps to keep my skin clear and under control. I'm already on my second tube of this, which is rare for me as I'm usually tempted to try new things instead of repurchasing the same products.

Of course, skin care will only take you so far. I good base is also key in preventing shine. Recently when I was wondering the isles of Boots I decided to purchase the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer and I'm so glad I did. This little tube helps to keep my make up in place and shine free for a good few hours longer than it would have without it. It has a thin, light consistency which I really like as it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, and it instantly mattifies your face without drying out your skin. Another product which created the perfect matte base, is the MAC Studio Fix Foundation. This is a full coverage, matte finish foundation that I find stays in place for hours longer than others I've tried. What I also love about this foundation is that the shade range is so varied. Being so pale, I often find it hard to find foundations that perfectly match my skin tone and colour, but MAC have it covered with their extensive shade range. To finish off, I like to use my all time favourite powder, MAC Studio Fix Powder. I'm on my 5th or 6th one of these, which really shows I have a deep love for this product. It instantly mattifies your skin and blurs any imperfections, as it also offers a little bit of coverage. I've just ran out of this again, and it's fair to say I'm struggling without it as I can't find anything that compares.

If you know of any other amazing products which help keep shine at bay, I'd love to know as I'm always on the look out for new products to test out!

MAC Lovecloud Blusher | Review & Swatches

Wednesday, 25 June 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all having a lovely week, I'm slowly starting to pack my life up into boxes ready to move out of London this weekend, which is a lot more stressful than I thought it would be, there's so many things to remember...and clean! Anyway, if you've read my MAC haul post then you'll know that I was given an amazing leaving present from two of the guys on my team...a MAC voucher (they clearly know me well!), so today I thought I'd post a full review of one of the things I picked up.

For a while now, I've been wanting to add another MAC blusher to my collection. I already own three of them and I love each one of them, so I knew I couldn't go wrong with one of their blushers. I decided on Lovecloud as it's a beautiful pink, almost baby pink, colour which I thought would work well with my fair skin and add a bit of much needed life to my face. MAC describe this as a mid-tone pink, but I'd say it also has the tiniest hint of peach to it, which I think you'll be able to see in the swatch.

Lovecloud is also a Satin blush, which is a formula I'd never tried before...so all the more reason to explore a little and test it out. When you apply it, it adds a gorgeous sheen to your cheeks so it also acts as a kind-of highlighter too. If you prefer a really highlighted look, then I'd definitely highlight too, but for a subtle day look, Lovdcloud is all you need.

Like all of the MAC blushers I've tried, Lovecloud is lovely and pigmented so you really do only need a tiny bit. I find that MAC blushers last me ages, which I think helps justify the slightly expensive price tag. Lovecloud is also super long lasting on my skin too. My skin gets quite oily throughout the day, so I often find that blusher seems to either melt off my skin, or disappear under the masses of powder I need to apply...but this baby was still going strong come 6pm when I left work which is a winner for me!

Which MAC blushers have you tried? I'm thinking of trying 'Well Dressed' next!

MAC Chilled On Ice Pro Longwear Paint Pot | Review & Swatches

Monday, 23 June 2014

Hello Lovelies! I hope your all having an amazing week, whatever you're up to! This week is my last week at Disney and I'm so sad to be leaving. I really can't believe that it's been a year since I was nervously shoving all my stuff into my Dad's car to move in to London and start my placement, and pretty soon I'll be frantically trying to make it all fit in the boot once again!

Anyway, since trying the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's last Summer, I've wanted to try out one of the MAC Paint Pots. I decided it would be a good idea to try out the Maybelline one's first just to make sure that I liked the idea of using cream eyeshadow, before splurging on one of the MAC ones as they're about three times the price. I really love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's and they're an amazing dupe for the MAC ones, however I find the colour range a little lacking which is why I looked to MAC for a couple of more wearable shades.

I originally went in to MAC with the intention of getting the Bare Study Paint Pot, but when I was swatching a couple of shades, Chilled On Ice was the one which really stood out to me. I'm a sucker for anything that sparkles and I'm a huge fan of a sparkly/shimmery eye. I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea but I'm just not a fan of matte eye looks.

Chilled On Ice is a beautiful light champagne colour, packed with tonnes of sparkle, which MAC describe as 'frosted white gold'. It's honestly such a beautiful colour and is so versatile. I love to wear this paint pot across my whole lid with a little black eyeliner for a day look, or you can glam it up a little and go for winged eyeliner or some golden neutral colours in the crease. Chilled On Ice can also be used as an inner corner highlight, but you could also dab a bit on your cheek bones to make them pop a little, as it's such a lovely highlighter.

The one thing I would say about this Paint Pot however, is that the formula is a little gritty. I'm not sure whether this is something that you get with all paint pots, or something that is specific to this shade as it's such a glittery shade, as this is the only one I've tried. I don't see this as being a major issue though, as it still blends excellently and stays put all day, so it's definitely something I can look past.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the MAC Paint Pots, and I will definitely be purchasing more (Bare Study and Vintage Selection are next on my list), unless Maybelline up their game and bring out a few more shades, as they're an excellent dupe!

Lots of Love,

OOTN #1 | White On White

Sunday, 22 June 2014

Hi Beauties! Last night I posted a little snap on Instagram of what I was wearing to go out and I got a couple of questions about where I got things from, etc...so I thought I'd pop up a little outfit post! Firstly, I'm really sorry about the shocking picture quality! I took these on my iPhone before heading out the door and when I put them onto my computer they were so blurry!

Anyway, I decided to go with an all white outfit as it seemed nice and summery, and then add in a pop of colour with my accessories. The skirt (£38) and crop top (£6) are both from Topshop, and I love how summery they both are! I don't usually go for crop tops as Im usually too worried about my stomach, but as I'm getting older I'm slowly learning not to worry about other people and whether they think you look fat, and just wear what I want to and what I feel comfortable in. To finish off the outfit, I wore these bright pink wedges (£25) from New Look and a matching back which I found in H&M (£14). I decided to keep my jewellery low key as I didn't want to over do it, so I just popped on a couple of midi rings from Primark.

Sleek 'Rose Gold' Blusher | Review & Swatches

Friday, 20 June 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you've all had a fab weekend! This is my last weekend in London and I never knew that I would be this sad about it! I've had such a wonderful year in the big city and made some friends I'll cherish for a lifetime, but it's time to move out and take advantage of new opportunities which come my way. Anyway, enough rambling.

I've had my eye on the Sleek Rose Gold Blusher for well over a year now, but as my local Superdrug is terrible at restocking their Sleek counters, I haven't been able to get my hands on it - but I got lucky and saw one last one in Superdrug when I was having a lunchtime browse. The main reason I wanted this blusher so badly was because I'd heard it was an excellent dupe for the Nars Orgasm Blusher, and while I've only swatched the Nars one, from what I can tell its an excellent dupe.

The Sleek Rose Gold Blusher is a beautiful pinky coral colour blusher packed with golden shimmer, which looks perfect paired with dewy foundation and neutral eyes, and just looks stunning with a tan or on olive skin tones. I really didn't expect much from this blusher, as I'm such a fan of high end blushers, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It's a beautiful creamy, pigmented blusher with the same wear time as any of my MAC blushers.

I really love this blusher, and I strongly recommend that you pick this up whenever you can, as I can see it becoming a summer staple for me. Also, not only is it a dupe for Nars Orgasm Blusher, it's also pretty similar to MAC Springsheen Blusher.

Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer | Review & Swatches

Wednesday, 18 June 2014

Hello Lovelies, I hope you've all had an amazing week and are ready for the weekend - I know I am! I really can't believe that this time next week I'll be making sure I've packed up all of my belongings ready to move to Bournemouth! I'm so sad about leaving London, and I'm thinking of doing a post about my time in London and my placement year at Disney, so if that's something you'd like to see please let me know in the comments as I know its a bit different to my usual beauty stuff!

A while ago, I was browsing the isles of Boots (this has become a Saturday ritual for me - curse living near a Boots and Superdrug!)  and I spotted the Boujois Happy Light range. I was looking to buy the foundation but for some reason my local Boots never seems to have it in stock, so I decided to take a look at the primers while I was there. I have quite oily skin and struggle to find foundations that last on my skin and stay matte all day, so I went for the Happy Light Matte Primer.

The primer is a serum primer so it's quite thin in consistency which I like as it means it sinks in very quickly, and I really don't have time to be waiting for things to dry in the morning. I was surprised to see that the primer has a salmon pink tone to it when you pump it out, but this shouldn't be an issue for anyone as it goes on to your skin clear and you really can't tell its there.

As I said, this primer sinks in ultra quick and leaves your skin with a lovely matte finish and feel which I found helped my foundation stay in place and keep oil under control for a few more hours than foundation alone would have. I've even been using this primer on days when I'm not wearing any make up to blur out any imperfections and keep my skin looking matte, so it would be perfect for any men who suffer with shine as well.

Overall, I really love this primer. Bourjois has done it again with their base products, I really can't fault them at the moment! Have you tried any of the Happy Light range?

MAC Haul & Mini Reviews

Monday, 16 June 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope your all having an amazing week! This week was supposed to be my last week working at Disney, but lucky for me I've had my contract extended for another week, yay! I really didn't want to leave so I'm really happy to be sticking around, even if it is only for a couple of extra days. Anyway, about a week ago I had a leaving dinner arranged by my manager to say goodbye before all the chaos of handing over my job kicked in, and at the end of the dinner I was surprised with a lovely gift. Two of the guys on my team had got me a card and a MAC voucher to say goodbye, and I was so shocked that they'd gone to the trouble as I honestly wasn't expecting anything! So, I thought I'd let you know what I picked up with my amazing present and do a couple of mini reviews as I've now had the opportunity to test them all out a couple of times. I will be doing full reviews as soon as I've had enough time to properly test them out too.

Honeylust Eyeshadow- £10.00

When I saw this little pan sparkling at me in the MAC store I couldn't resist adding it to my basket. I'm slowly managing to fill up my MAC palette and I really wanted to pick up some bronze/gold and purple shadows to complete it - so Honeylust was the perfect addition. It's a beautiful sparkly golden bronze colour which looks amazing swept across the lid and left alone for a simple day look or as part of a bronze smokey eye for when you want to look a little more glamourous.

Chilled On Ice Pro Longwear Paint Pot - £15.00

Ever since trying the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's last Summer, I've wanted to get my hands on one of the MAC Paint Pots, but they always seemed like a bit of a splurge to me so I never picked one up, but a gift voucher was the perfect reason to treat myself and get something I normally wouldn't pick up. I went into the store with the intention to pick up Bare Study, but when I saw Chilled On Ice, I knew it had to be mine. Chilled On Ice is a beautiful light champagne colour packed full of loads of sparkles. I like to wear this on its own across my lid, or as an inner corner highlight. It's perfect, and I now want to pick up Bare Study even more.

Amethyst Pressed Pigment - £17.00

While I was browsing the MAC counter last Summer, birthday money in hand, I picked up one of the MAC pressed pigments in Enlightening and it was love at first use. I love the ultra sparkly look that a pigment gives you but hate the fall out, so the pressed pigments are a dream come true for me. Recently, I've really been getting into wearing purple and lilac eyeshadow again (I used to be obsessed), so Amethyst, a lovely metallic lilac colour, seemed like the perfect option for me.

Lovecloud Satin Blush - £18.00

I've been debating getting another MAC blusher for a while now, I have three of them and adore each one of them, but I wasn't sure whether to go for a peach shade or a more pink shade. When I was looking at the blushers in the store, I kept picking up one called Sweetie and Lovecloud. I ended up going for Lovecloud as it was a little less purple toned in the end which I thought would suit my skin tone a little more. Lovecloud is a beautiful light pink colour which is surprisingly pigmented considering how light it is. It also has a beautiful satin finish which adds a subtle highlight to your cheeks, perfect for summer!

I'm so happy with everything I've managed to pick up and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of all of the items, so thank you to my team who have really spoilt me! If you've used any of these items I'd love to know, so let me know in the comments!

Lots of Love,

New In: Benefit 'They're Real!' Remover

Saturday, 14 June 2014

Hello Beauties! If you've read any of my recent 'They're Real' liner and mascara reviews, then you'll know that the only negative thing I had to say about them was how hard they were to remove. Well, Benefit has answered all of our prayers and brought out a 'They're Real' Remover to banish all of those hours spend scrubbing our eyes 'till they're red raw every night!

The They're Real Remover is a cream eye makeup remover and is quite thick then you first squeeze it out, which is strange for me as I'm used to using liquid eye make up removers. To use this, you just apply a little to a cotton pad and rub away. To properly test this, I applied the They're Real Liner and Mascara quite liberally and then after it had dried I went in with my cotton pad. To say that it was a dream to remove and it came off instantly would be a lie, but it was considerably easier than usual.

The They're Real Remover does remove the They're Real products a lot easier than regular eye make up removers but it also transfers mascara all around your eyes giving you a rather attractive panda eye look, so this definitely isn't something for quick make up fixes like Bioderma. However, this isn't an issue for me as I'd only use this when I was going to properly cleanse my face, so washing off excess 'panda eyes' isn't an issue.

I'd say if your a lover of the They're Real products, you would definitely benefit from purchasing this eye make up remover, as my eyes weren't red after I'd used it and I didn't have to rub them as much to remove all of my make up, but there are other options out there. For me, I just don't like cream make up removers (no reason, just personal preference) and I find that the Clarins eye make up remover also does a brilliant job. But overall, this is a great make up remover for heavy eye make up and the They're Real products.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation | Review & Swatches

Thursday, 12 June 2014

Hello Lovelies, I hope your all having an amazing week! Recently, I was caught out by the Superdrug 3 for 2 offer once again and found myself browsing the make up isles (I can never resist!). Its been a while since I've tried any drugstore beauty items so I thought it was about time to test out a few, and one of the things I picked up was the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory.

I remember hearing a lot of good things about this foundation last Summer, and with the summer months approaching and my YSL Touche Eclat foundation running low, I thought that now was a good time to purchase it. I bought this on my lunch break, and while the swatch on my hand looked lovely and glowy in the shop, when I caught a glimpse of my hand under the lights in the office...it looked pretty glittery! I then tweeted asking if this was a problem when applied to the face and I got so many mixed opinions about this foundation, so I thought I'd share my thoughts.

I'm usually not the best at reviewing drugstore foundations as I usually don't get on with them, but I've really been loving this foundation for a dewy glow. The shade range isn't brilliant which is why I never bought this foundation last Summer, but I found that when I'd properly blended my foundation out and down my neck that this wasn't a problem, and neither was the glitter. When I applied this foundation I fully expected my face to resemble a 70's disco ball, but instead my skin looked healthy and glowing, which is exactly what I was looking for. I always like to keep a dewy finish foundation in my collection for those 'natural makeup' days, and this is the perfect one for the job.

I found that this foundation lasted quite well on my skin, however, I did team it with the Bourjois Matte Primer which probably increased the wear time of this foundation. However, I did need to powder a lot with this foundation. I have quite oily skin, so I expected that I'd need to powder with this, as I would with any dewy finish foundation. But if needed to powder every couple of hours is something that bothers you and you have combination or oily skin, I wouldn't recommend this foundation for you.

I really love to mix this foundation with either my MAC Studio Fix or the L'Oreal Infallible foundation, as I find that it increases the wear time and lightens the foundation, making it perfect for every day wear.

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Tamarind | Review

Tuesday, 10 June 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope your all doing well and enjoyed the heat this weekend, despite the torrential downpour! Recently, my trusty Elemis Fresh Skin cleanser ran out and after scraping every last but out, I decided it needed replacing. However, as my skin has been acting up a bit recently and seems a lot more oily than previously, I decided it was time for a change. A little while ago now, I had a skin consultation at the Clarins counter in Westfield and the Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Taramind was recommended for me to help keep my oil under control, so I decided to give it a go.

The Gentle Foaming Cleanser contains Tamarind and Micro Pearls to help remove excess oil, dead skin cell and help to reduce the appearance of pores. The cleanser is quite thick at first but when you apply it then massage it in with wet hands, it turns into a lovely foam which leaves your skin feeling super clean. I know foam cleansers aren't everyones thing, but I always feel like they leave my skin with that super clean feeling which I love.

Living in London, I always feel like my skin and pores get clogged up more than they would if I was living at home in the countryside, so this cleanser is perfect for me as you can really feel it working deep down and when you wash it off with a warm wash cloth, it leaves you skin feeling squeaky clean. I was a little worried that this cleanser would be too much for my sensitive skin at first as it can feel quite stripping, but I've had no problems as long as I use moisturiser after cleansing (which I would always do anyway).

I really enjoy using this cleanser and I'm so glad that risking changing my cleanser paid off. My skin is a lot less oily now and has been looking quite clear recently which I can only put down to the cleanser as it's the only thing Ive changed. Also, it's just an added bonus that this smells like a spa in a bottle!

New In: Benefit 'They're Real!' Push Up Liner

Sunday, 8 June 2014

Hello Lovelies! A little while ago I was lucky enough to attend a special Benefit launch event for their new product, the They're Real Push Up Liner. The They're Real Push Up Liner is the latest addition to the well know, They're Real range of products, and I really think it's something that everyone should rush down to their latest Benefit counter to try.

Now, this wouldn't be a Benefit review without a mention of the packaging would it? The They're Real Push Up Liner* comes in a black and orange box and is a thin plastic pen liner, it's a lot like the They're Real Mascara packaging and completely different to what you'd expect from Benefit. I think it's easy to just expect Benefit to come out with some pretty looking product that doesn't do much but look good on your dressing table, this this product has year and years of research gone into it, and you can really tell.

The Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner has been said to be the worlds first ever lash hugging gel eyeliner in a pen, and it's a complete game changer in the eye liner industry. Benefit felt that the eyeliner product category was really an area which was letting women down, and I'd have to agree. I'm useless at applying eyeliner and I just don't have the time in the morning to faff around trying to get it right, so I often just miss this step out of my make up routine, until now. The They're Real Push Up Liner comes with an innovative  AccuFlex™ tip that easily hugs your eyelashes and makes it easy to get your liner super close to your lash line. The AccuFlex™tip is wide, angled and flat which allows you to draw a line on that's as thin as a knife edge, or build it up into a thick winged liner look.

The soft angled tip Draws an easy line which hugs the curved surface of your eye lid and the flat wide guard gently pushes your lashes up so that you can get super close to the lash line. The tip is the perfect combination of flexibility and stability which has banished those mornings of continually applying eyeliner once you've one wrong, and ending up looking like you've got two black eyes, definitely not a good look!
Another amazing thing about this eyeliner is that it's super long lasting. The liner has a super pigmented matte black finish and once it's dried it doesn't budge. This liner will stay put from the moment you put it on at 7am, and last you from a day at work to a night of clubbing without having to be retouched.
However, the one issue I have with this liner is that, much like the They're Real! Mascara, it's super hard to remove. In one way this is a good thing, as it shows just how long lasting is it, but on the other hand, spending my evenings scrubbing my eyes is not ideal. Benefit have now released a They're Real Remover which does help to take the range off a lot easier, and I'll be posting a full review of this product up on my blog shortly.
The Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner will be available to purchase from Benefit on the 27th June for £18.50.

Lots of Love,

MAC Peachtwist Blusher | Review & Swatches

Friday, 6 June 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope your all having a lovely weekend, whatever you are up to! I honestly can't believe that it's June already, it seems like just yesterday we were all frantically tearing open our Christmas presents...where has the year gone?! Anyway, seeing as it is nearly Summer I thought that I would let you all know about a beautiful blusher perfect for Summer.

My love for peach blushers has gotten slightly out of control recently, and the latest addition to my collection is MAC Peachtwist Powder Blusher. Peachtwist is a warm, deep apricot colour with orange undertones and a subtle gold shimmer running through it. Although this is a Sheertone blusher, it comes out quite pigmented, so I'd really recommend using this lightly if you have a lighter skin tone like me. However, if your slightly darker skinned and always complain that blushers don't show up on you, you need Peachtwist in your life.

Peachtwist really warms my face up and gives me a beautiful sun kissed glow, almost like you've caught the sun slightly too much - but in summer, I really like this look. If your worried that Peachtwist may be a bit dark for you, I'd really recommend trying out Springsheen as this has the same peachy golden glow, but slightly lighter. I know that Peachtwist seems dark in the pan but if you just lightly dust it across the apples of your cheeks, it really does create a lovely light glow.

I really do love this blush, despite it being a bit on the darker side, and think it will be perfect for a bronzed summer look. If your not usually a fan of blushers and prefer to just go in with bronzer, then I'd really recommend this as it's perfect for a sun kissed glow.

Lots of Love,

Benefit 'They're Real!' Mascara | Worth The Hype?

Wednesday, 4 June 2014

Hello Lovelies! I hope your all having an amazing week, this week is my last week at work before my replacement starts so I'm super busy getting everything ready for her to start. I really can't believe that this year has almost come to an end, I'm really sad to be leaving London as I've had an amazing year, but I also have lots to look forward to so I'm just trying to remember that! Anyway, I know I'm super late to the party with the Benefit They're Real Mascara* as most people have now tried it and pretty much everyone has heard of it, but I thought I'd let you all know my thoughts on it anyway.

I've been using this mascara for a few weeks now, and I have to say, despite my initial dislike of it (from trying small samples), I'm now fully converted. If your looking for a long lasting mascara that will give your lashes the boost they need, and last all day - you need this mascara in your life. The Benefit They're Real Mascara comes with a specially designed brush with a spiky ball tip which helps you to push up your lashes for extra volume, and also allows you to get into the corners really well for a more fuller look.

The formula is a dream to work with and I find that I only need one or two coats to get the desired look. After using this mascara my lashes looked longer, fuller and it really did reveal length that I never knew I had. As this mascara is extremely lengthening, I only use this on my top lashes as I really don't like the look of super long bottom lashes, but thats just personal preference.

Now this wouldn't be a Benefit review without mentioning the packaging at least once. They're Real comes in an orange and black box, and the mascara comes in a silvery grey tube...completely different to what you'd expect from Benefit as it isn't super girly or cute, but I still like it and it does look sleek sitting in my make up collection.

My only issue with this mascara is how difficult it is to remove. In a way, this is a compliment, as this mascara won't budge all day. I've worn it through watching weepy films, laughing so hard I cried and chopping onions and it stayed firmly in place. However, when I came to remove it at night before bed, it was just such a hassle. I found myself rubbing continuously at my eyes until it eventually looked like it was all gone, but then in the morning I'd still wake up with panda eyes. Benefit are soon to be releasing a remover for this mascara, which I have yet to test out (review coming up soon once I have!) which hopefully will resolve this issue...because apart from that, this really is a truly wonderful mascara.

Lots of Love,

Becky x
