July Birchbox | What I Received

Sunday, 6 July 2014

Hellp Beauties! I hope you're all having a fab weekend! Today I'm off to see McBusted at Hyde Park British Summertime Festival and I couldn't be more excited. I really miss living in London (despite only being gone a week) and it will be great to catch up with some of my old work friends and see a few friendly faces again after what hasn't been the best week.

Anyway, July's Birchbox is 'Sun, Sea & Sand' themed as it is now officially Summer. Despite this being the theme, I didn't receive anything directly related to this in my opinion (no suncream, tanning products, etc) but nevertheless, all of the products I received will definitely come in handy when I jet off to Miami in two weeks!

Laqa & Co Lip Lube

As soon as I opened the box, this was the first thing I noticed. I always find makeup more exciting than skincare, and as a massive lip product fan, my eyes were immediately drawn to this little lip crayon. Shockingly, I've never tried any of the lip crayons, chubby sticks, etc (I know, bad beauty blogger right here!) and I don't really know why as I've always thought they were pretty cute. I received this cute peach shade which will be perfect with Summer make up. I've given this a little try already and it's lovely. It glides on to your lips effortlessly and is extremely pigmented.

Gilchrist & Soames Mineral Bath

I'm not going to lie, I have never heard of this brand. When it comes to bubble bath, if it's not your standard Radox, Lush or something special like Jo Malone, I've pretty much never heard of it, which is odd considering how much I love the bath. Anyway, this little travel sized bubble bath contains sea kelp to invigorate the sun. I think this will be perfect to take away with me and it will definitely be earning a place in my travel wash bag this month.

Whish Lavendar Body Butter

I've also never heard of this brant either, which is beginning to be a bit of a theme with this months box! I'm usually not too fussy when it comes to body butters, but I'm really not a fan of the lavender scent. Although this is a nice body butter, I doubt it's something I'll use because of the scent, but I'm sure I will be able to find a home for it.

Weleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo

This little bottle contains a natural and organic fortifying shampoo. I've never tried the brand before, but I'm always looking for mini shampoo and conditioners for hotel stays and holidays. I'll be staying in a hotel for a night in Fort Lauderdale this month, so this little bottle will be perfect for that.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

Just the other day I was saying how I really needed to pick up a new eye cream, and it's like Birchbox ready my mind. I've never tried Balance Me, but it's a brand which gets a lot of love in the beauty blogging world, so I'm excited to give this a go. This is a light eye cream which helps to brighten your eye area (definitely something I'm in need of) and keep wrinkles at bay. This comes in a little tube which will be perfect for taking away with me this month, too.

Ultra Dex Breath Spray

As my little lifestyle extra this month, I received the Ultra Dex Breath Spray. At first I was a little bit like 'meh' because you know, breath spray isn't exactly exciting. But when I thought about it, it's a handy little handbag product and not something I would have bought myself (always been more of a mints girly, myself). I'm sure it will come in handy when I'm off out straight from work, or when I insist on having italian (i.e garlic) food in restaurants - probably a little TMI for you there!

Overall, I really liked this months Birchbox. It's not as amazing as June's and if I wasn't going away, I probably wouldn't get as much use out of all the travel sized products, but since I am, this is perfect for me. If you'd like to receive a monthly Birchbox yourself, you can get them for just £10 a month by clicking here

Lots of Love,

  6. Umm not sure I'm that impressed with this months box, I'll see how I like everything when mine arrives but so far only the lip crayon is really making me happy but I do prefer makeup in these boxes over skin and hair care products which unfortunately they seemed to be full of
