June Birchbox | Global Strikers Edition

Tuesday, 1 July 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope your all having an amazing week! I've always been tempted by beauty subscription boxes, especially when everyone starts posting each month about all the wonderful goodies they have received, but I've always been put off as some months just don't look as great as others, and surely it would be better to spend the £10 on something I really want? Well, I think my first ever Birchbox* may have converted me.

The June Birchbox is called the 'Global Strikers' edition and is World Cup themed (obviously, everything is at the moment!). I got some amazing products this month that I've been wanting to try out for ages now, so I definitely think that it's worth at least £10. The box consists of a couple of products that Birchbox have chosen to play in their 'winning beauty team' and also a little Birchbox flip-flop keyring as an additional extra, which is so cute and summery. Anyway, on to what I got...

O.P.I Brazil Collection Mini

In my Birchbox this month, I received a little OPI mini polish in the shade 'I just can't Cope-acabana' which is the shimmery yellow shade from the collection, its not the one I would have chosen but it's a welcome addition to my nail polish collection none the less. I'm not put off by the fact that it's only little, as I often buy the sets of minis that OPI offer as it's a great way to try the colours for a fraction of the price, and I rarely every finish nail polish before it either dries out or goes gloopy.

Original Beauty Blender & Cleaning Solution

I think the Beauty Blender was the product I was most excited about in this months box. I'd seen a couple of other beauty bloggers post about what they got in their box and was hoping that when I opened mine, a little pink sponge would be waiting for me, and luckily it was! I've been wanting to try the Beauty Blender for ages now so I'm really happy to have received it and can't wait to use it!

Caudalie Divine Oil

Caudalie is a brand which I've been interested in trying for a while now, but never have as I'm always scared to try new high end skincare brands incase they don't work for me, so getting a little sample of the Divine Oil was great for me! I plan on using this on my hair mostly as I can never go without a good hair oil, but it can also be used on your nails, skin and on your body (I may have to try it to see if it can help easy my sunburn!). It seems like a great multi use product and I'm hoping it will help my hair stay soft, because nobody likes a scarecrow do.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrete

I'm going to hold my hands up and admit that I've never heard of this product, despite Birchbox describing it as a French Cult Classic. This little sample of moisturing cream can either be used as a moisturiser or can be layered up and used as a face mask. I'm happy with my moisturiser at the moment, but I'm looking forward to trying it out as a face mask as I currently don't own any hydrating face masks.

Silk + Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask

Silk + Honey is another brand I've never tried anything from, but I'm a sucker for hair masks so I was pleased to receive this in this months box. I straighten my hair a lot so anything that claims to help it stay silky smooth and hydrate it is a winner in my books. However, I'm secretly hoping that I don't love this product as the full size is £55, eek!

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with Birchbox, it's definitely the best beauty subscription box that I've tried and the only one that has me thinking about parting with £10 a month to carry on being surprised each month. I've never tried Glossybox, but by the looks of it, I won't need to.

Lots of Love,

Becky xx

  1. This box looks amazing and I've been a fan of subscription boxes since I've signed up for one myself. The beauty blender and OPI Polish would be something I would have been most excited for it if I got one.

I used to get Glossybox but was so unimpressed with the products and the service. Birchbox all the way!
