Hello Beauties! Since I bought my Naked 3 Palette home, my love for Rose Gold has only grown stronger. So when my housemate was clearing our her old MUA kit and said I could have this pigment, you can only imagine my excitement.
The MAC Rose Pigment is a beautiful rose colour with gold shimmer running through, it's a truly stunning colour. Like all MAC Pigments, this is highly pigmented (as the name would suggest) and extremely glittery/metallic. I'm a big fan of metallic/shimmery/glittery eyes, so Pigments are perfect for me.
However, I did have a bit of trouble making this pigment 'work' for me. Its quite an intense colour, and as a girl partial to her neutrals, using something like this can seem a little scary. After a bit of testing, I've found that this pigment looks really pretty with a bronzed look and a nude lip. As it's such a bold colour, I wouldn't pair it with a bright lip as it would just look a bit too much.
The only real downside to this pigment, like all pigments, is the fall out. It's an extremely glittery loose shade which does get everywhere if you use it loose. However, there are a couple of ways you can get around this. Firstly, if you knew you were going to be using it a lot (I think I will when it comes to Winter as it will look beautiful paired with MACs Cranberry eyeshadow), you could purchase the MACs Mixing Medium which turns it into a past/cream/gel formula and results in no fall out, or alternatively you could mix it with a little water and apply it wet. Another way to minimise fall out is to press the pigment. I've done this with all of my pigments and its a fairly easy job. All you have to do is mix the pigment with little vodka or alcohol and leave it to set under a stack of heavy books - there's loads of tutorials on YouTube of how to do this, and this is something I've now done with all of my pigments.
Lots of Love,
Becky xx
