Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette | Review

Saturday, 30 August 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and are looking forward to the weekend! This weekend I'm hoping to finally finish my Uni assignment before Freshers starts, as I don't want to be sat inside working while all of my friends are out having fun, so I haven't really got anything fun planned, and you'll probably find me procrastinating on Twitter.

I've had my eye on this Benefit Eyeshadow Palette for months now, probably about a year, so I was so happy when it finally made its way into my expanding collection. I'm a sucker for neutral palettes, as I'm sure a lot of you are aware so it was only a matter of time before this Benefit neutral palette made its way into my makeup bag, and since getting it I've been using it non stop!

The Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette comes with everything you need to create a gorgeous neutral eye look and contour your eyes. The palette contains their Boing concealer in the shade 02. I'm a big lover of Boing concealer as it pretty much covers anything and stays put all day, however I usually use the shade 01, so I didn't think that I would get much use out of the concealer. However, when I was reading up on the palette I found that you can also use the concealer included as a base for the eyeshadows, which is what I've been doing. I never really thought of doing this before, but it works surprisingly well and helps to keep the shadows in place all day long.

The palette also comes with a base shadow, a contour shadow and a matte liner. The base shadow is a really pretty pink champagne colour which looks lovely with the crease colour. I found the crease colour to be very similar to Sidecar from the Urban Decay Naked palette, which is perfect for me as Sidecar is my most used shadow. The colours work amazingly well together and really help to add definition to your eyes without the need for any crazy colours, making the palette perfect for everyday use. The palette also includes a matte dark brown liner shade, and an angled brush which you can use to apply the liner. I usually use a matte black shadow to line my eyes so at first I thought that this may be a little too light for me, however the eyeshadow is extremely pigmented and the result is just a softer line instead of the harsh black line I'm usually drawn to.

The finished result is a beautiful soft neutral smokey eye which would be perfect for everyday wear, or even for a night out if you didn't want to go all out. If you don't already own this palette, I'd really recommend going to pick it up, you definitely won't regret it!

Lots of Love,

Becky x x
