Benefit Rockateur Blusher | Review & Swatches

Saturday, 18 October 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all doing well and are having a lovely week. A little while back I finally popped my Cohorted cherry and snapped up the Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher for the bargain price of £11.50! It really was a no brainer for me when I saw the price as I've almost paid £23.50 for this in the past as I wanted it so bad, so I was a very happy girly when the postman turned up with my parcel.

Firstly, lets talk about the packaging, this really wouldn't be a Benefit Costmetics review if I didn't, right? Rockateur is the latest Boxed Blush from Benefit, so it comes in the standard cardboard box with the hinged top and a tiny little mirror (who really uses them?!) and a little brush which I also don't use - I just find them way too small to work with. The box has a pretty gold, pink and black lace pattern and while its not my favourite boxed blush design (I just love Hervana way too much), it's still pretty and looks so cute sitting in my draws alongside my other boxed blushes.

When I first looked at Rockateur it looked like a shimmery rose gold powder which I was slightly worried about as some shimmery products can highlight my enlarged pores, however after the first use, the shimmery top layer of the blush disappeared to leave a soft pinky peach blusher behind. I really love the colour of this blush and think it's perfect for any pale girls out there like me. It's quite a delicate colour which I think looks quite sophisticated, and it really isn't that pigmented. I don't find any of the Benefit Boxed Blushes to be that pigmented which makes me question why I spend so much on them, but they were my first real make up love and I think they will always have a place in my heart! Although it's not super pigmented (I'm comparing it to my MAC blushers) it's still really pretty and creates a subtle pink glow which, while it's understated, is super pretty.

Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase and I think this blusher works well as an everyday blusher when you don't want too much colour on your cheeks. It blends well into my skin and works well with my bronzer, so I really have no complaints! What's your favourite Benefit Blusher? Mine's definitely Hervana, closely followed by Rockateur!

Lots of Love,

  7. I've always been tempted to try the benefit box blushers, but can never justify the price - I will have to keep an eye out on Cohorted!

  8. I LOVE Cohorted! I got the Naked 3 palette on there for £18 - it's bargains galore! I was too late for this blush as it was closed by the time I got to it! Looks a beautiful blush! The only Benefit Boxed Blush I have is Bella Bamba, which is super bright. xx
