Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner in Infinity | Review & Swatches

Sunday, 26 October 2014

Say hello to my new partner in crime, the Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner*. Now, anyone who knows me will know that me and eyeliner really don't get on. I can never apply it properly and it just ends up like a big ol' mess on my face every morning, so I tend to skip this step and just use a dark eyeshadow to line my eyes...until I met this beauty.

Despite not being the biggest eyeliner fan, I've tried a fair few different types from various brands, but this one has got to be my favourite so far. Infinity is a deep black colour and it really is the darkest  of blacks and so pigmented. I only use the tinniest smidge to get a defined black line so I can see that this pot will be lasting me months with everyday use as you do get quite a lot of product for your money.

The formula of this liner is really what got me. Its so unbelievably creamy and easy to work with. I use an angled brush with this and it's just perfect. It glides on effortlessly and creates a super defined line which is perfect if you want an understated look, or you can easily build it up and flick it out. I thought that the Benefit Push Up Liner was the easiest to use, but this offering from Illamasqua has knocked it right out of the park, because if I can master eyeliner using it, then anyone can!

This eyeliner also has some serious staying power. If you just leave it for a few seconds after you've applied it and wait for it to dry, it literally will not budge until you want it to. I have to get up very early for Uni this year as I am commuting in, and this eyeliner will look just as perfect when I apply it at 6am as it does when I take my make up off late at night, so if you work long days or you're just tired of your eyeliner smudging up your eyelids, then I really recommend you go take a look at this one.

The only downside I could find for this would be the price (£18.50), but Illamasqua is a high end brand so you do have to expect high end prices. I don't mind paying high end prices if the product really works better than ones I've tried from the drugstore, and this is definitely the case with the Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner. It's better than any other liner I've tried and it's now an essential in my make up bag.

Lots of Love,
