The October Birchbox | What's Inside?

Saturday, 4 October 2014

Hello Beauties! I know I say this pretty much every month, despite not having time to publish monthly favourites for quite some time now (I promise to sort this out soon!), but I honestly can't believe its October already! I've just started my Fourth Year of University here in Bournemouth and I've already got looming deadlines and tonnes of reading to do, it's honestly all a bit overwhelming, so coming home to this months Birchbox after a particularly complex lecture was a lovely little surprise. This months box is called 'Work It!' and is in association with CoppaFeel for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I realise that I am very lucky to say that Cancer is not something that has affected me or any of my loved ones, however it can affect anyone, so I think it is a really good idea that brands such as Birchbox are supporting these charities and including information on how to check for the signs of Cancer and what to look out for. This months box also contains a little pink beauty purse/bag which is perfect for your handbag, and much more useful than their regular drawstring bags, and of course I love the pink theme!

Shaveworks The Cool Fix

Shaveworks The Cool Fix is a cooling gel lotion that treats ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after shaving or waxing. It's not necessarily a product I would have bought myself as I don't suffer with any of these things but it's a handy product to have in my box of samples incase any of these issues ever arise.

Pixi By Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm

I love that I got this in my box, I'm a bit of a lip balm junkie and you can really never have too many. This lip balm also has a raspberry colour tint to it, making it perfect for when you want a hint of colour, and its gone straight in my handbag. Also, this would have normally set me back £8 making this box so worth it.

Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum

The Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum is a radiance enhancing, anti-ageing serum from Dr. Sebagh and Cindy Crawford. This isn't something I probably would have bought myself as my skin is usually quite oily and being 21, I'm not massively into anti-ageing products just yet but I'm sure this will come in useful during the winter months when my skin is looking a little more dull than usual.

Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm

Balance Me is a brand I've heard a lot about, but haven't really tried. I'm not sure why but so far I haven't seen anything that has wowed me enough to purchase, saying that I haven't really looked that much though. The Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm is a natural nourishing cleanser with exfoliating oatmeal powder. This is perfect for normal to dry skin, and apparently helps to balance oily skin too and claims to be perfect for oily skin. I can't wait to try this, I'm thinking of having a little pamper night tonight so I will have to let you all know how I get on!

KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Creme

I love the little hair styling samples that you get in Birchboxes, so far I've made use of and loved every one I've received and I'm sure this will be no different. It claims to smooth curls, waves and frizz which is perfect for me as I have naturally curly (frizzy) hair and am always looking for something to help tame it.

Birchbox Lipstick Pen

This months lifestyle gift was this super cute pen in the shape of a lipstick. I really do love this, I'm always looking for a pen when I'm out to jot things down (mainly post codes for my sat nav, I get lost...a lot.) and this one will look super cute in my handbag.

Overall, I really love this months box. There are some really great products on offer and I love the pink theme. If you'd like to pick up one for yourself, you can do so here. Each box costs £10 a month which I don't think is a bad deal considering everything I received this month.

Lots of Love,

Becky x x

  1. What a sweet little purse, much nicer than the usual drawstring bag! I cancelled mine last month and, although I know it seems really, really obsessive to sign back up for a lipstick pen, I want one so bad!
