The Vivabox 2014 | Review

Thursday, 30 October 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all doing well and are enjoying what is left of Autumn before the Christmas madness sets in, honestly I can't wait! Now I know we've only just entered November, however I know a lot of you, like me, like to start their Christmas shopping early. That way you can spread the cost and there's no last minute dashes to the shops on Christmas Eve (I've been there, trust me you don't want to be doing that!). So to kick off the festive season I thought I would introduce the Vivabox* to you, exclusively available from The Perfume Shop.

The Vivabox is available for both men and women and I think it would make the perfect Christmas gift for any difficult relatives out there! The box comes with seven carefully picked perfume samples which you can test out (there's enough in there to test each one for about a week) to see how they wear on your skin, which ones you like best, etc and a voucher so that you can pick up the full size bottle of your favourite.

I did receive one of these last year and I loved it, however I really think they've stepped it up a notch this year. The boxes are beautifully presented with the little bows and the cute little envelopes inside and the perfume samples are all quite large (for a sample). I also think the selection of brands has improved with brands such as Hugo Boss, Juicy Couture and Jimmy Choo included.

I think that this would make a great Christmas present for anybody really. I think perfume is a really lovely gift but it's also really hard to get right unless you know a specific fragrance that people want as everyones tastes are different. So offering someone the choice but still giving them something they can unwrap is a great idea. I still haven't decided which one I am going to go for yet but I think its between Jimmy Choo and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy at the moment. My Dad was also really pleased with his Vivabox as he loves having the samples to take away with him on work trips...I think he was a bit more excited about the samples than the prospect of getting the full size haha!

Lots of Love,

  1. These look cute and is such a good idea but I think the samples look quite small so after a few sprays they would run out.. Did they last quite a long time? :) xx

    1. Each sample lasted about a week on me. I didn't wear them all for a week as there were two or three which weren't to my tastes but I used up three of them and they all lasted me about 5 days to a week which I think was enough time to properly judge if it was the right scent for me :) Hope that helps! xx

  3. I must admit, I am LOVING all the Christmas posts that are being featured on blogs at the moment - keep them coming! This is a lovely idea - as Jessie asked above, how many 'ml' are in each sample bottle?

    1. Thank you Justine, I have a couple more planned for the festive season :) Each sample is either 2 or 3ml which although it doesn't sound like a lot, each one lasted me around 5 days to a week which I think is enough to judge which perfume suited me best and which ones lasted on my skin. Hope that helps! xx

  5. This is so cute, I love the packaging! It's pretty overpriced though I think, if I was going to spend £40 on a present for someone I'd want it to be either really personalised or something I know they wanted :)

  6. Ahhh but that is the beauty of this present, India. Buying fragrance for someone else is tricky and a very expensive mistake if you get it wrong, believe me I know from personal experience from both sides. So, the genius of the Vivabox is, that you are giving them the choice, with plenty of time to choose the one they love the most. Not all fragrances suit every one and a quick spray at a fragrance counter, is not enough time to really tell if a fragrance will last on your skin, or if it doesn't suit you at all. Given what this particular gift is, it is not really that expensive, you get all the testers too + the voucher for a full bottle of your favourite. So many things can alter the way a fragrance smells on you, from medication to what you have eaten etc. It is also a great way to find a new fragrance that you may never have bought because you didn't think it would suit you, when in fact it is perfect. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but, no one I have given a Vivabox to has ever been disappointed with it as gift!
