Best of 2014 - Make Up - Eyes & Brows

Monday, 29 December 2014

Hello Beauties and welcome back to my 'Best of Makeup 2014' mini series. Today I thought I'd talk about eyes and brows. I don't have too many products, as most of my favourites are in palettes which I have decided to dedicate a whole post to, but there are some pretty special products which I've fallen for in 2014.

Firstly I'll start off with a bit of a controversial product. The bloggersphere seems to be divided when it comes to this product, the Benefit They're Real Liner, but I personally love it. I don't often wear eyeliner, but when I do this is one of my go to products. I find it really easy to create a thin, precise line with this product and its also really pigmented. It is a little expensive for an eyeliner, however as I don't use it too much, I know it will last me quite a while.

Another favourite of mine this year has been the Make Up Forever Smokey Mascara. I was given this little deluxe sample as part of a birthday present from Sephora while I was visiting America in the Summer and it's still going strong now. It has an odd shaped triangular brush which I really like as it gives you the option of a larger brush, and a smaller one for getting at those hard to reach lashes. I find that this mascara makes my lashes look perfectly fluttery and it really holds the curl. I can't really vouch for its lengthening qualities as I am fortunate enough to have quite long lashes naturally, so mascara never really lengthens my lashes!

This year I also have a favourite eyeshadow primer, which is the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original, which is unfortunately almost ran out! I got this smaller size with one of my Naked Palettes and I really do notice a difference in pigmentation and wear when I use this product. If you have oily eyelids like myself, I'd definitely recommend checking this product out.

My all time favourite product in this category is the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz. I first bought this back in July and recently managed to completely use it up (trust me, I scraped out every last bit!), I tried to go a few days without to see if I could use up some of my other brow products but I just couldn't and I think I lasted about 3 days before I ordered a new one! I love how thin the pencil is as it makes it easy to draw on natural hair-like lines, making your brows look naturally fuller, as oppose to that 'drawn-on' look.

Another favourite of mine this year is the Sigma E35 Tapered Blending Brush. I honestly don't know what I'd do without this brush. It blends out my eyeshadow effortlessly in the crease and just makes all of my eyeshadows apply beautifully, no matter how rubbish the eyeshadow formula. This brush is also super soft, and I definitely want to pick up a few more in 2015.

You may find it odd that I've included two eyeliner favourites in this post, despite hardly ever wearing eyeliner, however this one was just too good to miss out. If I have time to spend on my eyeliner trying to create the perfect flick, the Illamasqua Gel Eyeliner is the product I reach for. It's a really creamy, pigmented gel liner which is just so easy to work with. Also, once this has dried, it won't budge so no more dark lines on your lids half way through the day!

Lastly, another favourite of mine this year is the MAC Pressed Pigments. I've been a big fan of MAC pigments for a while now but the only drawback was the amount of fall out. However, this year MAC bought out pressed versions of all of their pigments which give you the same pretty sparkle, but with reduced fall out. If you're a glittery shadow lover like myself, you need to get your hands on one of these.

Lots of Love,

What I Got For Christmas 2014

Sunday, 28 December 2014

Hello Beauties! I've been umm-ing and ahh-ing about doing this post for about a week now. I love reading them myself, just like I love reading hauls, make up collections, etc - because I'm extremely nosy, but I know there's quite a lot of stigma attached to these posts. I never did one last year because of this, however this year a couple of you have asked to see what I got so I thought I would do the post anyway. Needless to say, I'm in no way trying to show off or offend people, I'm sure you got a lot of lovely gifts, and Christmas really isn't about how much money is spend on gifts.

My main present from my parents this year is this beautiful Kate Spade purse. Kate Spade is one of my all time favourite designers, I love all of the cute girly designs and the quirky details, however due to my student budget, I haven't been able to buy anything from her. I've also needed a new purse for quite some time now but haven't been able to find one I like within my budget, so this year my parents surprised me with this one from Kate Spade. Needless to say, I adore this and I can't wait to go shopping so I can properly put it to good use!

This year I was fortunate enough to be one of those people who received a 'Selfie Stick' from Santa. It seems like everyone and their dog got one of these for Christmas and I can see why - they're so much fun! This one is from Kit Sound and is a bluetooth one so it doesn't come with any loose wires that you have to attach like some of the ones I've seen. I put this to use on Christmas Day to snap some family selfies and of course a selfie with my cat who you can see is my screensaver!

I also received these Ruby & Ed slippers from my Brother this year, I had no idea what he was getting me and (with a little bit of my Mums help) he picked the perfect gift! I've been wearing these non stop since Christmas Morning and I can definitely say that these are the cutest, softest things I've ever owned. They also have real leather soles so I know that these will last a long time, or at least I hope they do because they're one of my favourite possessions at the moment!

I only asked for one thing this year, which was these beautiful shoes from Dune. I've been on the hunt for a new pair of black heels for a while now as mine are looking a little too shabby, but I'm quite picky when it comes to heels. I wanted something with a strap, a little platform and I wanted them to be suede or suede effect, and when I saw these online I knew they had to be mine. The main reason why I wanted these was because instead of just being plain and boring, they had glittery soles which is just so me. These will be perfect for nights out and parties, so I know I will get a lot of use out of them.

This year Santa also bought me an organiser for my hair tools. This is just a metal frame (I couldn't get a good picture and I haven't put it up yet!) which is fixed onto your wall and holds your hairdryer and a pair of straighteners/curlers - like they have in the hairdressers. I think this will be so useful to have as I'm always using my straighteners! I also got this gorgeous Tarte Amazonian Clay Blusher in Doll Face, Tarte blushers are my all time favourites so Santa clearly knows me well! My Mum and Dad also got me these Sally Hansen Gel Polishes which don't need a UV light. These look really interesting and I love the colours and the concept, but I haven't used them yet so I will have to update you all when I've given them a proper go. These are from Canada though, so I'm not sure if we can get them in the UK - Sorry! I also got some money and a gift card this year so I could treat myself, which was great as I actually had something to put in my new purse! I'm planning a trip to West Quay in Southampton tomorrow to hit the sales, so hopefully I will be able to pick up some nice bits.

As I said, my parents went to Canada just before Christmas this year and they picked me up some Victorias Secret underwear (it's my favourite) and a really cute Victorias Secret blanket which is pink and white striped with VS in black letters in the middle. This has now become my blogging blanket as I'm always sitting on my bed with it while I'm blogging away! They also got me this TIGI Oatmeal & Honey shampoo and conditioner which I already know I love. I've had these a couple of times before and they work wonders on dry/damaged hair and they smell amazing. I also got this acrylic cotton wool pad dispenser to go with the rest of my acrylic storage and an EOS lip balm.

I also got a couple of bits for my car and smaller body sets but I've either already used them or they're in my car already so I couldn't take photos (and I didn't think you'd be that interested in car stuff!). I hope you enjoyed having a nose at what Santa brought me this year! If you've done a post like this, I'd love to see it so please feel free to leave it in the comments below :)

Lots of Love,

Best of 2014 - Make Up - Face/Base Products

Saturday, 27 December 2014

Hello Beauties, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and were completely spoilt with lots of nice things! If you've done a 'What I Got For Christmas' post this year, I'd love to see it so please leave a link to it in the comments below! Now that I'm suitably stuffed from all of the cheese, pigs in blankets and Quality Street I've been eating and well rested after a couple of days off, I'm now ready to get back into the swing of things blogging-wise. Instead of doing December Favourites this year, I thought I would do a 'Best of Beauty' mini series to showcase my favourites from the past year, starting off with base/face products.

First up is the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer (a bit of a mouthful!). I never thought that I'd be including a primer in this post, especially from the drugstore, as I usually really don't get on with primers. I find that most primers targeted at my skin (oily/combination) either dry out my skin, break me out or just make my make up slide off my face. However, I've been using this primer for the past couple of months and I've really noticed a difference in the way my make up applies and how it lasts throughout the day. I use this over my whole face as it smooths out any pores and fine lines and helps my make up to stay in place.

Secondly, this year I have been loving the Make Up Forever HD Foundation which I bought in Miami this Summer. I find that the foundations blends in effortlessly and conceals all of my blemishes and scars, without completely masking my face. The foundation has a lovely natural dewy finish which has been perfect for the winter weather. Another favourite from 2014 is the Make Up Forever HD Powder, from the same range as the foundation. This powder is amazing at blurring out any imperfections and making your skin look flawless, it's also really long lasting which is something I struggle with on my oily skin.

Another favourite of 2014 is the Maybelline Anti-Age Eye Eraser. I've been on the hunt for the perfect under eye concealer this year, and although this is a recent purchase, it's definitely my favourite from the year. It has a slightly yellow undertone which works really well to cancel out any dark circles. The creamy formula also blends into the skin effortlessly and the sponge-like applicator makes applying the concealer so easy (although I'm not sure how hygienic it is!).

My favourite bronzer which I've discovered this year is the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer. I have tried so many new bronzers this year (Nars, Benefit, L'Oreal, you name it...) however this one really stood out to me. As a pale skinned girl, I often find it hard to apply bronzer without looking like an actual orange or like I've been rolling around in mud, however this one from Too Faced is perfect for people with pale skin. It's a lighter take on their famous Chocolate Soliel Bronzer and if you weren't already convinced, it smells like chocolate too! It's also worth noting that this is a matte bronzer so it's perfect for contouring too.

Another favourite this year is the Rockateur Blusher from Benefit Cosmetics. I used to have a little big of an obsession with the Benefit Boxed Blushers but over the past few years I've calmed down a bit and have been enjoying discovering some new brands, however when I saw Rockateur I knew it had to be mine. Rockateur is a lovely dusky rose colour which looks so natural on the skin, and it also has a slight sheen to it which really gives your skin that much sought after glow.

Another favourite of 2014 perfect for adding a glow to your skin is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. I bought this at the beginning of the year and used it nearly everyday, and I've only managed to make a little dent so I can definitely see this lasting me forever. Soft & Gentle gives you a lovely champagne sheen when applied to the tops of your cheeks and helps to create the look of cheek bones, even if they're non existent!

Lastly, a product which has really stood out to me this year is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blushers. I don't have any specific colour favourites, as I couldn't choose just one but the formula on these is amazing. They're super pigmented and they really do last all day, which is surprising for a product like blush which usually wears off first. If you have the opportunity to pick one of these up, I definitely recommend that you do.

Holiday Traditions

Wednesday, 24 December 2014

Hello Beauties and Happy Christmas Eve! As the big day is fast approaching and everyone is putting the finishing touches to their present wrapping I thought it might be nice to share some of my holiday traditions with you. Christmas is my favourite time of year, I love how happy everyone is and it's impossible not to get into the festive spirit. I've narrowed it down to 4 of my main traditions or I will be rambling on forever!

1. Every Christmas Eve when I was little me, my Dad and my Brother would all go in to town and pick up some last minute presents for my Mum. I used to love doing this and it was what I loved most about Christmas Eve. As a little girl and still to this day I loved Christmas Shopping and wrapping presents for people and doing some last minute bits on Christmas Eve always got me more excited for the big day!

2. After we had been shopping we always used to go to the local cemetery and pick up some flowers for my Mum. Not as grave-robber as it sounds, I promise! Our local cemetery always used to have a big flower stall on Christmas Eve to raise money for charity so we always went and picked up a few bunches for Mum.

3. In my house we always open our presents first thing in the morning, in our pyjamas. I still don't think I could wait and get dressed properly before opening the presents, the excitement is just too much!

4. I've also made it into a little holiday tradition to by my cats Christmas presents over the past few years. Although they love to just play with the wrapping paper, I do like to treat them at Christmas time and this year I'm planning to get my cat Travis a dressing gown because he just loves them. He comes into my room every morning crying until I give him my dressing gown to sit on (strange animal) so I'm going to get him his own so he can stop bothering me at 6am! I'm also going to get my cat Bailey some gloves and hair bobbles as he loves to chase them around and chew on them - another strange animal!

This is it from me until after Christmas now (obviously I won't be posting tomorrow!), so I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a wonderful day with your loved ones,

Lots of Love,

Make Up Forever HD Powder | Review

Monday, 22 December 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and are looking forward to Christmas whether you're working or you've got a bit of time off. I'm off from Uni at the moment, although with the amount of revision and work I've got to get done over the holidays, you'd never know it! Anyway, let me introduce to you my new favourite powder. For years now I've been on the hunt for the perfect powder and I think I may have finally found it.

Having oily skin, finding the perfect powder has always been at the top of my beauty list, and unfortunately I just haven't been able to find anything that ticks all of the boxes. So when my parents went to Canada recently, they kindly picked up the Make Up Forever HD Powder for me. I'm a big fan of the foundation, and I'd heard a lot of good things about the powder so I was really excited to try it out, and rightly so.

The Make Up Forever HD Powder is a 3 time award-winning HD setting powder which leaves your skin with a lovely soft matte finish, enough to get rid of any oil and shine but without making your face look flat and powdery. The powder looks white in the pot, however it applies translucent and actually stays that way. I find that as I have oily skin, most powders oxidise on me and turn a lovely shade of orange throughout the day, so to find a powder that stays the same throughout the day is amazing. When you apply the powder, you also can't see that you've got it on your skin as it leaves such a natural finish. I have a tendency to pile on the powder throughout the day in an effort to control my oily skin, which can often leave my skin looking quite cakey, however this powder can be applied throughout the day without caking up and it just looks so natural.

The powder is made from 100% mineral silica absorbs the excess oil on your skin throughout the day, while softening the whole look of your make up, including airbrushing fine lines and pores, which is exactly what I am looking for in my powder as I do have trouble with blemishes and pores. What I also really like about this powder is the fact that it actually lasts throughout the day. Usually, even powders which claim to be long lasting have melted off my skin within an hour, so when I found that this powder lasted on my skin at least 5 hours before I needed to touch up, I was very pleased.

Overall, I love this powder and it's definitely reached holy grail status, I can definitely see why it's won so many awards as I've honestly never tried a powder as good as this one. I've also heard that it's a favourite of Kim Kardashians, and as I'm a massive fan of her make up that was reason enough to buy it for me - she always has flawless skin! This powder isn't currently sold in the UK, however it is available from Sephora who now ship to the UK, so if you are putting in an order, I strongly advise that you pop this product in your basket as well!

Lots of Love,

Simon & Tom Moroccan Hair Treatment | Review

Friday, 19 December 2014

Hello Beauties! For years now I've been a huge fan of hair oil treatments, with Moroccan Oil being my usual go-to, however I was recently contacted by Simon & Tom asking if I would like to try out their premium moroccan argan oil hair treatment. I love trying out new brands of hair oil, as I'm always on the hunt for the next best thing, and I may have found it in the Simon & Tom Moroccan Treatment.

The Simon & Tom Moroccan Treatment is a 100% natural treatment using the highest grade moroccan argan oil to ensure its nourishing qualities. The treatment is designed to treat frizzy, unruly hair leaving you hair soft, smooth and shiny. The package comes with a bottle and a separate pump much like the original Moroccan Oil and the treatment is an amber colour thick oil, pretty much identical to Moroccan Oil, and it also smells identical. These were all good signs that I'd found something comparable to my favourite, but slightly more expensive Moroccan Oil, but did it work as well?

I'm pleased to say that I found the Simon & Tom Moroccan Treatment to work just as well as the original Moroccan Oil, in fact they are pretty much identical. Apart from the branding, I can't see one difference between the two. The Moroccan Treatment left my hair soft and frizz free without any greasy residue, and it also helped to restore some of the moisture lost from my hair through extensive heat use.

I'd really recommend this to anyone, no matter what your hair type. However, this is a little expensive, much like all premium argan oil treatments. The Simon & Tom Premium Moroccan Treatment is available from Amazon for £29.90, making it a tiny bit cheaper than Moroccan Oil, but only just. If you can't get your hands on the original Moroccan Oil for any reason, I highly recommend that you pick this one up instead - your hair will thank you!

Lots of Love,

Lush Christmas 2014 | The Butterbear Bath Melt

Wednesday, 17 December 2014

Hello Beauties! I'm back today with another Lush post. Last week I picked up a couple of bits from Lush and this one has to be my all time favourite. I mean, how could I resist this cute little bear?! I managed to reign it in this year and only pick up two things from the Lush Christmas range, and it was no mean feat let me tell you! They always bring out so many exciting things around this time of year, but I always find it a little bit expensive as most things you can only use once so I only picked my absolute favourites this year.

The Lush Butterbear has got to be my all time favourite bath bomb from Lush. The Butterbear is packed full of pieces of cocoa butter which melt into your bath once the bath bomb has fizzed away. Unlike many bath bombs from Lush, this doesn't turn your bath all kinds of crazy colours. Instead it just puts the subtlest shimmer into your bath which I actually really like, it gives your skin a lovely sheen. The melted cocoa butter in the bath is such a luxurious feeling and my skin has never felt better than after using this bath bomb, it's just lovely especially in these colder months where your skin needs a little TLC,

The Butterbear has the same smell as the Butterball bath bomb which I love, its a sweet cocoa vanilla scent which isn't too overwhelming, just enough to warm you up on a cold evening.

What did you pick up from Lush this year? I was tempted by some of the more sparkly offerings!

Lots of Love,

Glam Glow Thirsty Mud Face Mask | Review

Hello Beauties! I'm sure you've heard me mention countless times that I have super oily and uncontrollable skin, however what I don't usually mention is that its also seriously dehydrated. It's not dry and I rarely get dry patches, however after a recent skin consultation I was told that my skin is very dehydrated, which may be part of the reason my skin is oily, as it is producing extra oil to combat the dehydration. Since finding this out, I have been trying to make more of an effort to re-hydrate my skin through my skincare, but without making my oiliness and acne worse. With that in mind, I jumped at the chance to try the Glam Glow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment* from Blow Ltd

Blow Ltd are a company who specialise in fast beauty. They open early and stay open late so you can go before or after work, which I think is a great idea. When I was working full time, the hardest thing I found was trying to fit all of my appointments in around working hours as everything was shut by the time I'd left the office. Blow Ltd offer a range of beauty services such as blow dries and manicures at super speedy rates so you can be in and out in half an hour - perfect if your dashing to a party or a date! They also sell a range of cult beauty brands, such as glam glow, Anastasia Beverley Hills and more.

Before I jump into reviewing the actual product, I just wanted to tell you all about the service I received from Blow Ltd. When the parcel arrived it came beautifully packaged in a black Blow Ltd box with ribbon tied over it and I just thought that it was a beautiful way to package the product and makes such a difference, I'm always impressed when companies think of the small details like this. Blow Ltd are currently doing this gift wrapping service on all of their products for Christmas, meaning that you don't even have to wrap them and if you want to post them directly to your relatives it just makes it so much easier as you know they will be presented beautifully.

Anyway, moving on to the review. The Glam Glow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment works in four different ways to keep your skin hydrated. The mask uses the newest, most advanced and extreme hydration active technologies providing deep instant extreme hydration for men and women of all ages. Glam Glow claim that the new super technologies - Dewdration (hyaluronic acid & citric acid), Hydrapack, Green Energy and Teaoxi - will leave you with hydrated, heart pounding, glowing skin.

The mask has a gel like consistency and is a tan colour which actually looks quite funny when you put it on as it looks like you've gone a bit OTT with the fake tan, but rest assured, this does wash off! It also smells amazing. The mask smells quite tropical and summery and just has a lovely relaxing, fruity smell which I love, it definitely makes it feel a lot more luxurious. But does it work?

Glam Glow as a brand have received quite a lot of hype and rave reviews from the beauty blogging world recently, and with good reason. I left the mask on for 10 mins and my skin felt instantly calmed and refreshed. It left my skin feeling hydrated and it finally got rid of that horrible tight feeling (anyone with dehydrated skin will know what I'm talking about!). What I also liked about this mask is that while it does provide intense hydration, it doesn't leave that horrible sticky residue behind like a lot of moisturising masks do, and it doesn't feel like it's clogging up my pores. Glam Glow definitely helped to improve my dehydration issues, and it didn't worsen my oily skin problem, which was my main concern with this product, in fact my skin was a lot better after using the mask.

What is also great about this product is that it has so many uses. This can be used on the face, neck and chest, and it can also be used as a moisturiser. Glam Glow recommend leaving the mask on for 10-20 mins depending on the dryness of your skin, however it can also be used as an overnight mask if you apply a thin layer and work it into the skin, leaving you to wake up with glowing supermodel skin. It's also really handy to have if you have any long haul flights booked anywhere. Aeroplanes can really dry out your skin, but if you apply a thin layer of the Glam Glow Thirsty Mud before take off and then dab it off with a tissue before landing, you can avoid the whole dehydration mess that a flight can leave your skin in.

Honestly, I do think this is a wonder product, but I appreciate that it is expensive so I will be keeping this for special occasions or when my skin is feeling particularly tight and dry as I don't want to use it all in one go! If you do suffer with dry and uncomfortable skin, I would definitely recommend investing in this mask, you won't regret it!

Lots of Love,

Tarte Pin Up Girl Blusher Palette | Review

Monday, 15 December 2014

Hello Beauties! As they did last year, Tarte have released another limited edition blush palette as part of their holiday collection, the Tarte Pin Up Girl Palette. Unfortunately, as these are only sold in the US I never managed to get my hands on last years, so this year I made it my mission to get my hands on it.

The Tarte Pin Up Girl Palette comes in a golden creamy palette designed to look like a clutch. It also has a gold and lilac band across the top which comes with two really pretty hair slides. I love sparkly, girly hair slides for clipping the front of my hair back so I'm happy that Tarte included them as a little extra with this palette. I know this packaging has received a lot of hate for being too tacky and unnecessarily bulky but I actually quite like it. I dont mind having a few bulkier palettes in my collection and as it has 5 quite expensive blushers inside, I like that the packaging is bulky and padded as I know the blushers are protected.

The palette contains the shades (L-R): Breathless, Embraced, Whimsy, Bashful and Irreplaceable.

Breathless is a beautiful beige colour with pink undertones which works beautifully as a contour/blush for those days when you don't want to go for a full on contoured look. I don't currently have anything else like this in my collection so I'm pleased that Tarte have included this one, as it isn't necessarily something that I would pick up as a single blusher.

Embraced is a beautiful plum colour which I think would be perfect for the Winter months. I don't really own any plum or autumn blushers so I've been wearing this one non stop in the past couple of days. Embraced also has a lovely sheen to it to perk up your cheeks on those cold winter days.

Whimsy is a light pink shade and my favourite of the bunch. It's a matte blusher in a medium pink colour and it's definitely the type of blusher I usually go for and is similar to the other Tarte blushers in my collection. Although I have a couple of shades similar to this, I'm still happy that it was included in the palette as the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushers are my favourite formula to wear.

Bashful is a lovely rosy peach shade with a slight sheen which I think will be perfect for the summer. I currently already own their Amazonian Clay Blush in Captivating which is a similar shade, but slightly more peachy toned and matte so I think this is another great option to have for the summer.

Irreplaceable is a semi-matte mauve rose colour and unlike anything else I have in my collection. It's not a shade I would usually go for but I'm so glad Tarte have included this shade as it looks perfect with winter make up and is a great subtle blush to pair with a cat eye.

Now lets talk about the formula, I adore the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushers and the ones in these palette are no exception. They are super blend-able and amazingly pigmented meaning that a little goes a long way. If you ever get the change to try some of the Tarte blushers I really recommend that you do, if your a blusher fan like myself you won't be able to help yourself from picking up a few!

Overall, I love this palette (if you couldn't already tell!). It has a varied colour selection meaning that its perfect for creating a number of different looks and its a chance to really try out the Tarte blushers and all of the finishes that they do. If your into your blushers I really recommend picking this up, you won't look back! However, these are only available in the US (sorry UK readers!) and they are selling out fast, but if you can get it online anywhere (I've seen a couple on Amazon) then go for it!

Lots of Love,

VIDEO: December Collective Beauty Haul

Sunday, 14 December 2014

Hi Beauties! I hope you're all well and have having an amazing weekend! I haven't really done much this weekend as I thought I would give myself a break after all of my Uni deadlines last week, so I've just spent it releasing and blogging (the best kind of weekends!). Today I posted a new video on my YouTube channel so I thought I would share it with you all over here on my blog. I'm fairly new to this whole YouTube thing (this is only my 3rd video!) but I really appreciate all of your supportive comment and tweets that I've been receiving - so thank you!

Today I thought I would film a December Collective Beauty Haul, I haven't been buying much beauty-wise as I've been doing a lot of Christmas shopping, but somehow some beauty bits seemed to come home with me so I thought I'd share them all!

I hope you liked this video and please leave me a comment telling me what you'd like to see more of, or how I could improve my videos as I'd really like to get better at the whole YouTube thing!

Too Faced Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses Palette | Review & Swatches

Friday, 12 December 2014

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and looking forward to Christmas! I've finally broken up from Uni for Christmas now and I couldn't be more excited, this year has been so tough with all of the assignments they've thrown at us so I'm happy to finally have a little bit more time to concentrate on my blog...although I probably should be revising, oh well. Recently, my Mum and Dad went to Canada on holiday and I could hardly let them get within 100 feet of a Sephora without giving them a little shopping list! Top of my list was the Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses palette from the Too Faced Holiday 2014 Collection. I adore the whole of the Too Faced Holiday Collection this year as everything is just so beautiful, but I wanted to narrow it down to one option as I already had quite a bit on my shopping list and this palette looked like the one I'd get the most use out of.

Firstly, I'll start off with the packaging because isn't it just the most beautiful thing ever? The palette comes in this pretty pink tin that I think is just so girly and pretty and right up my street. Also, on the inside, the palette is made from gold glitter which I think is adorable, I love anything sparkly, especially around this time of year so I just love this packaging. Too Faced have ticked all the boxes with the design of this palette.

The Too Faced Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses palette comes with three shades from their coveted Chocolate Bar palette, a Chocolate Soliel Bronzer, a Sun Bunny Bronzer and a peachy pink lipgloss mini which hasn't been released yet.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette is still top of my beauty wish list os to have three of the shades in this palette is perfect for me, especially as they are exactly the kind of colours I like to wear. Too Faced have chosen to include White Chocolate which is the larger shade from the three and is perfect to use as a highlighter, Creme Brûlée which is the perfect shimmery golden shade, and Haute Chocolate which is a lovely shimmery deep brown shade. I think Too Faced have chosen the perfect shades to include in this palette as they work wonderfully together and also work really well just on their own. I've never tried too faced shadows before but I'm so impressed with the quality of them. They are so pigmented and creamy making them super easy to blend out, and I think I may love these even more than my old favourite UD shadows. I will definitely be purchasing more Too Faced eyeshadows when I get the chance!

The palette also contains two pretty good sized bronzers, one matte and one shimmery which I think is good because it gives you the options of two different looks. I already own the milk chocolate soliel bronzer which is the lighter version of the two so I really like that this palette has the darker version for when I fake tan or when I want more of a harsher contour. The Chocolate Soliel Bronzer is matte and super blendable, its also not muddy at all making it the perfect bronzer in my opinion. The palette also contains the Snow Bunny Bronzer which is a shimmer bronzer combining four different shades - cream, dark brown, pink and light brown/champagne - and when blended together they make a lovely light shimmer brown colour which looks amazing dusted over your cheeks for a glowy christmas party look.

Lastly, the palette contains a lipgloss in the shade 'Sweet Kisses' which is a beautiful peachy pink colour. This lipgloss hasn't actually been released separately yet (I think it's coming out in the new year) so I think its great that you can get something from this palette which isn't available anywhere else.

Overall, I am completely in love with this little set from Too Faced, there isn't a product in there which I'm not amazed by and I love that the whole palette smells like chocolate! Like I said, I purchased this palette in Canada however it is available in the UK from Asos

Topshop Chameleon Glow in Wax & Wane | Review & Swatches

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

Hello Beauties, I hope you're all well! Today I've been at it again with the whole 'retail therapy' thing, it really does work wonders haha. The other day while I was browsing Topshop for a new jumper (I never did find one), I came across the Topshop Beauty counter. I've never really been wowed by Topshop Beauty enough to encourage me to purchase anything but I saw two little very sparkly eyeshadows and I was drawn in like the magpie that I am.

The Topshop Chamelion Glow are dual pigmented eyeshadows which are oh so pretty. I'm not sure if they are new or not, but at the moment they only come in two shades...a purple shade and a golden shade. I went for the purple one as it stood out to me the most for all of the different colours it showed up as in different lights. I've tried to show the two main colours in the photos below, however it is quite hard to show you just how beautiful these are in a still picture, so I will probably include these in a YouTube video soon to show you just how beautiful they actually are.

Wax & Wane is a purple based eyeshadow when you look at it in the pan, but if you tilt it slightly it looks like it has a blue shimmer all the way through it, and if you tilt it another way it looks like more of a bronze colour. It's very pigmented and shimmery, so I like to apply it to my lid with my fingers to reduce fall out. However, these eyeshadows really don't create that much fall out considering how glittery they are - I'm amazed!

These Chamelion Glow eyeshadows are seriously stunning and look equally as good on their own as they do patted over other eyeshadows. I'd really recommend having one of these in your collection if like me, you love a good sparkly eye (I seriously can't get enough) or if you like to make your eye make up look extra special for nights out. These retail for £9 which I think is a great price for the quality of the shadow, they're long lasting, pigmented and a little really does go a long way so I can see this product lasting me forever.

MAC Flamingo Lipstick | Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties, I hope you're all well! I've been feeling a little down in the dumps recently due to all of my Uni deadlines stressing me out to extreme levels (which is why I haven't been posting as regularly, sorry!), and what better way to cheer myself up a bit than some retail therapy? Me and my friend headed over to West Quay in Southampton to do a spot of Christmas Shopping and while we were there we decided to treat ourselves, multiple times - oops!

I've come to the point now where all of my MAC products seem to be running out at the same time, and while I was having a sort through my make up draws I realised I had enough empty products to use their Back To MAC scheme and grab myself a free lipstick (always a good day). I headed over to the MAC counter early to avoid the crowds of teenage girls fan-girling over the lipsticks so I could have a proper look, and came out with Flamingo.

I recently gave my Sunny Seoul MAC Lipstick to my Mum after letting her borrow it a couple of times, as she really did use it more than I ever did, which left a big coral MAC lipstick shaped hole in my life, and along came Flamingo to fill that hole. I know this isn't the most winter appropriate lipstick I could have gone for, however I find that winter shades just don't suit me like nudes, pinks and corals do.

Flamingo was originally part of the All About Orange collection which was released a few years ago (way before I was properly into MAC and make up) so I unknowingly missed it the first time, however MAC have recently released the four lipsticks from the All About Orange collection into their permanent lipstick line up. I'd say Flamingo is the least 'orange' out of the lot and is a pretty pinky coral colour with a hint of orange. It's more of a natural coral colour and looks really pretty on pale skin, if I do say so myself. It's a lustre formula which glides onto the lips effortlessly and looks really creamy once applied.

Overall, I really love this lipstick and I think its the perfect pinky coral for my skin tone. I can't wait until Summer rolls around again and I can really start to wear this on a more daily basis, even if I am getting ahead of myself a bit there!
