New In | The Birchbox February Slim Box

Monday, 16 February 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and enjoying what is left of February, honestly this year is going so fast that I can't keep up! Anyway, I have an exciting new launch to tell you about today - the new Birchbox Slim Box. Birchbox have cleverly realised that although some of us love subscription boxes, what we don't love is missing the delivery and then having to wait until were off work at the weekend to collect it from the sorting office. Luckily, my postman always tries to re-deliver when I'm in as our sorting office is miles away, but there's nothing worse than knowing you've got a parcel and having to wait to collect it! The Birchbox Slim Box is designed to fit through your letterbox so there's no need to be waiting in line at the Sorting Office on a saturday again! All you have to do is opt for the Slim Box option when you sign up to a Birchbox subscription here

Februarys box was 'Love is in the Air' themed, clearly to coincide with Valentines Day, and I think it was a really cute theme, anything pink is always a winner with me though!

The first product I saw when I opened the box was a sample of theBalm Cindy-Lou-Manizer. I've only ever tried theBalm once before when I picked up one of their Balm Shelter lip glosses, and that product is still a firm favourite of mine, so I was excited to see a product from theBalm included in this months box. The sample is pretty tiny however, so I think I may have to use this as an eyeshadow instead of a contouring highlighter like it's supposed to be.

The second product that fell out of my box was the Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner in Black, and how cute is the packaging for this? I love the black and gold polka dot theme! Cynthia Rowley isn't a brand I've heard much about but since testing out this eyeliner, I will definitely have to check out some of the other products from the brand as it's brilliant. Although it's a pencil liner, which isn't my liner of choice, this eyeliner as a smooth formula which glides onto the skin effortlessly, and it has some serious staying power.

This month I also received the T-London Darjeeling Hand and Body Lotion, again not a brand I've really heard of but it smells quite nice and fresh and the sample size will be useful for overnight trips. I also received a large sample of the Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo. Other than the famous Cleanse & Polish, I haven't really heard much about Liz Earle so I'm excited to see if this works wonders on my hair. Lastly for the beauty bits, was the Caudalie VinoPerfect Radiance Serum, I actually received this in last months box also, and while it is nice, I would have liked to receive something I hadn't already received, or at least something I hadn't received for a few months.

February's lifestyle choice was this sachet of Oats + Chia, in the mixed berry flavour. I expected this to be a lot like the mixed berry express porridge I sometimes have for breakfast, so I put it to the test with high hopes, but unfortunately I just don't like Chia! However, I am possibly the worlds fussiest eater and I know Chia is quite popular at the moment, so there's no reason why you won't like this product!

What did you think of the February Slim Box?

Lots of Love,

Becky x x

  9. Genius idea to make them slimmer to slip through letter boxes. I tend to get all my deliveries sent to work to avoid this, but it's definitely a smart idea that would make me more inclined to purchase their box than others. x
