Esqido 'Unforgettable' Mink False Eyelashes | Review

Tuesday, 24 March 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you're well? Sorry for the slight delay on tonights post - I have some graduate job interviews coming up next week so I've been busy preparing for them! Today I wanted to share with you all these beautiful ESQIDO false eyelashes which are made from mink hair. Now, before I get any of you worried, these are made from the highest grade naturally shed Mink hairs, so no harm comes to the animal while the lashes are being made.

The 'Unforgettable' style is described as being natural and elegant, and I'd have to agree. The Mink hairs really make the lashes look a lot more natural than your average strip lashes and the gradient of increasing thickness and length across the lash band creates a subtle and fluttery winged out effect. These lashes also sit on a cotton band as opposed to a plastic band, which made them so much easier to apply and much more comfortable to wear. I often find that when I wear false eyelashes they can make my eyes look slightly droopy, I'm guessing from the weight, but I never really had this problem with these lashes due to the cotton band and the sheer weightlessness of them.

Although I don't wear false eyelashes on a daily basis, I've tried my fair share of styles and brands, I once even spent over £20 on a custom pair from the Tokyo Lash Bar by Shu Uemura, and nothing comes close to these lashes, they really are the best I've tried. I have quite hooded eyes which can make my eyes look a bit closed sometimes and make them appear smaller, however these lashes gave me just enough volume and length to counteract this and really open up my eyes without looking too fake.

I've worn these around 4 times now and they're still looking in a really good condition, which is surprising, as I'm not the most reliable person when it comes to looking after my lashes. ESQIDO do recommend that you use DUO Lash Adhesive (I used the Shu Uemura one and it worked fine), and when removing them it's recommended that you use a cotton bud dipped in some oil free makeup remover and dab the band area, wait for a few seconds so that the glue can dissolve then slowly push the lashes off using the cotton bud. This avoids pulling on the band which can over time loosen the material and will generally leave your lashes in a bit of a sorry state.

Another point to mention about these lashes is the packaging. I've never had any false eyelashes that have come as beautifully presented as these. The lashes come in a white and rose gold, leather effect box, complete with a little instructions manual and tips booklet. I definitely think the packaging has helped me to keep them in good condition too, as I know I have a safe place to store them without them falling out or getting crushed in flimsy plastic/cardboard packaging.

Overall, I'd completely recommend these lashes and I can see why YouTube stars such as Jaclyn Hill rave about them so much. They are slightly more expensive than your regular Eyelure lashes at $36, however I've seen people say that these will last you up to 25 wears as long as you look after them, so I see them more as an investment. I don't mind spending extra for lashes that suit me, and that stand the test of time. I'm also thinking of doing a FOTD post soon using these lashes, so let me know in the comments below if that seems like something you'd like to see!

Lots of Love,

Becky x x

  1. These lashes are beautiful and the packaging is so luxe! So good to hear they are wearable for at least 4 times, I hate it when you buy nice lashes and they only last one use.

  5. Mink lashes are sooo lush and natural looking compared to the cheaper ones, I've always wanted to try them! Since they are slightly expensive, I would definitely take care of them more (I'm guilty of peeling off my lashes wherever after a night out hahah).

BTW, good luck with all the interviews! :)
