New In at Crown Brush

Sunday, 29 March 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well? Recently I have been testing out some new makeup from Crown Brush, and today I thought I would let you all know my thoughts on a selection of the new products they have in stock. Crown Brush is fast becoming my favourite place to shop for makeup brushes, the quality and selection are amazing and I've been so impressed with what I've tried, but one thing I had never given any thought to was the Crown Brush makeup line, until the lovely Zoe from Crown Brush sent me a few bits to try out.

All of the makeup at Crown Brush is really affordable and they have some great makeup artist 'essentials' (I have my eye on the concealer palettes!) along with some great dupes for higher end items, such as the UD Naked palettes. The packaging is all kind of standard black packaging, nice and sleek but nothing fancy, and for the price you really can't ask for anything out of this world.

One of the first items I tried out is one of their new bronzers. Crown Brush have released a collection of new bronzers, and a bronze, blush and highlight travel palette which is next on my wish list. The one I've been testing out says 'matte/sun kissed' on the front, which was really confusing, as it's anything but matte, but name aside, it really is a lovely product. It's a fairly light, shimmery bronzer, which gives your cheeks a lovely glow without being too noticeable, so it also works well as a highlight. In fact, it's an almost identical shade to theBalm's Cindy Lou Manizer, so if you've been eyeing up that for a while, then I'd definitely recommend checking this one out first. I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of this bronzer during the summertime, and for £6.99 it's a complete steal.

Another product which I've been loving from the collection is the new Chubby Eye Pencils. I often find that eye crayons pull on my eyelids and tug at the delicate area around my eyes, however this one is so soft and creamy that it glides on like a dream and blends out effortlessly for a seamless look. The shade pictured is Curacao which is an electric blue shade, and not really something I'd wear (I'm more of a neutrals or purple girl myself) however the line does include some gorgeous neutral shades, so I think I'll definitely be picking some of them up, as the formula is to die for.

Another product I've been testing out is the new Eyeliner pencils. I'm not really a fan of eyeliner pencils, or eyeliner in general, as I usually just use a dark shadow and angled brush to line my eyes, and again I was sent a light, sparkly blue shade which isn't really a shade I'd pick. However, I did give it a trial run and I'm happy to report back that it's a lovely creamy consistency that glides onto your eyes really well, as again, I often find that eyeliner pencils can pull on my eyes. The line does have some pretty purple, black and brown shades though so If you're more into your neutrals like me then you should be able to find the perfect shade!

Crown Brush Chubby Lip Pencils | Here

One thing I never really got into was chubby lip pencils, I do own a couple of sample size ones but never really went out and bought the whole collection of Revlon ones like every other blogger seemed to do, so when I discovered this in my package I wasn't too excited, however I really shouldn't have dismissed it straight away as it's actually rather great. The colour is a little on the bright side for me, however the formula is amazing, they glide on really smoothly and sit really well on your lips, and the pigmentation is great. I think I may purchase one in another colour, as Rio (a lovely muted rose colour) seems more my kind of shade.

Crown Brush Lip Liner Pencil in 'Not Pink' | Here.

One product I've been after for months now is a light pink/nude lip liner that doesn't cost the earth, and that's actually in stock - thanks for that Miss Jenner, and I think I've finally found the perfect one. This is a great dupe for MAC's Hip n Happy and goes so well with Creme Cup and other pinky nudes. It lasts all day and helps to keep my lips looking defined and neat. I'm not one for overdrawing my lips, as it just looks ridiculous on me, so I can't vouch for how well it works for that purpose, but for £2.99 it works really well as an everyday lip liner.

Lots of Love,

Becky x x
