Toni & Guy for LFW | Heated Rollers Look

Sunday, 8 March 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well! Today I have a slightly different type of post for you...I was recently challenged by Toni & Guy Electricals to recreate a look from London Fashion Week in celebration of their newest range of hair tools, the Salon Professional range, being used backstage at London Fashion Week to create some of the key looks showcased. I decided to base my look on the Vivienne Westwood show. Vivienne Westwood used a lot of olive greens and earthy colours, paired with natural 'messy' hair and I just loved the overall look. She also used these strange red blobs of paint in her make up looks, however I don't think I could really pull that off, so I chose to bring the earthy tones into my make up instead.

To create the messy beachy waves that I've attempted in the pictures above, I started off by sectioning my hair into layers, and then popped some of my Toni & Guy heated rollers in the top sections to give my hair a bit of volume and a loose wavy curl. As my hair is quite short at the moment (well, short for me) and the underneath sections are a lot shorter than the top ones, instead of using the rollers, I used a medium sized curling tong and just loosely curled my hair while the rollers were setting. After the rollers had set and I had taken them out, I gave my hair a quick spritz of hair spray and salt spray and gently messed up my hair using my fingers (you can also shake your head upside down) and voi-la! It was super easy to create this look and I've found that recently I've been doing this on a daily basis, as it looks like I've spent ages on my hair when really it only took about 15 mins!

For the make up, I wanted to create a golden olive look that was simple to create. To start off with I primed my lids using the Urban Decay Primer Potion then applied MAC's Antique Gold eyeshadow in the crease and blended out to create a soft golden olive look. Then, to add a little bit of dimension to my eyes, I added Urban Decay Half Baked from the original Naked palette to the centre of my eyelid. To finish off the eye look I just lined by eyes using my trusty MAC Fluidline and applied a few coats of the new Benefit Rollerlash Mascara, and voila!

I hope you liked this make up look, I tried to make it as 'daytime' appropriate as possible as I know most people don't go full on glam all day everyday, and if you'd like to see more make up or hair looks then please let me know in the comments below - I've been thinking of doing a post on 5 easy short hairstyles now that my hair is a lot shorter! I'll also be popping up a full review of the rollers to give you a little more detail and giving you a chance to win a set for yourself so keep your eyes peeled!

Lots of Love,

Becky x x
