Burberry Kisses Lipstick in No5 Nude Pink Review

Tuesday, 14 April 2015

Hello Beauties! Now, this is a review I never thought I'd be publishing here on Lipgloss & Lashes. I love my high end makeup as much as the next person, however the likes of Burberry is a little out of reach for the likes of me, so when I was sent a free sample by the lovely Lily (check out her blog: here) as part of Burberrys new lipstick launch campaign, it was fair to say I was a little excited - Thanks Lily!

The new 'Burberry Kisses' range of lipsticks is said to be customisable colour for your lips, as the moisturising formula allows you to build the colour up from sheer to very pigmented, depending on how you like your lipstick. The formula is buildable, moisturising and lightweight on your lips, which is really important when your wanting to build up your makeup to achieve a higher coverage. The lipsticks all contain a rich blend of pigments, shiny polymers and are enriched with Burberry's signature blend of teas, lavender and rosehip (although this does not affect the scent so don't worry if like me, you hate lavender!).

The shade I opted for was 'Nude Pink 05' which, as the name suggests, is a beautiful pink nude - and possibly my perfect lip colour. Anyone who knows me, or has been makeup shopping with me, knows I love to rock a pinky nude lip, and the sheerness and buildability (is that even a word?!) of this lipstick makes it perfect for me. I think that when nude colours are a little full on they risk giving the impression of 'foundation lips' which trust me, isn't a good look on anyone. The nude pink colour is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade for me, adding a little hint of pink, but still being suitable for everyday or workwear. I'm already getting through this little lipstick at speed though, it's now become my everyday 'go to', replacing MAC's Creme Cup and Lovelorn, which have been firm favourites of mine for years now.

And I couldn't end this review without talking about the packing, right? The lipsticks come encased in a beautiful shiny grey metal packaging with the subtle Burberry print across the lid and Burberry inscription across the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging also has a magnetic close which I think is just so sleek and classy, there's just something about that clicking sound (please don't tell me I'm alone on this one!).

Overall, this lipstick was love at first use. If you think MAC lipsticks are the ultimate, you seriously need to try these lipsticks from Burberry and watch yourself be proven wrong. I'd say if you're a fan of the MAC Lustre finish lipsticks, then you'll absolutely love these as they are a lot more moisturising on the lips, a lot like the Lustre finish lipsticks. These are a little pricey (which kills me a little, I alway hate when I fall in love with high end products!) at £25, however not as expensive as I was expecting, making it a lot easier for me to talk myself into buying the full size product.

Lots of Love,

Becky  x x

  5. These are gorgeous, I am such a sucker for nude lipsticks! And now you have said MAC lipstick lovers need these in their lives, I want one even more! The price tag puts me off though, is it really worth £25?! Great review x

    1. Personally, I'd say it was worth the price, but I'm one of those people who don't mind spending a bit extra on beauty products because I love them so much! If you're more of a budget beauty lover then I'd say that you probably wouldnt find these worth the price. They're the same in quality as YSL and the same price, so definitely not too expensive as far as high end lipsticks are concerned :) xx

  6. The shade is absolutely gorgeous! It's always a little upsetting when you fall head over heels for a high end product.....they take your money but you love them anyway!

  13. Can I just say, I think I've found my twin! You've literally reviewed everything I've been interested in (UD Naked 3 palette, this collection of Burberry lipsticks etc.), I also hate lavender and once I actually opened and closed my Mac lipstick until I heard the click!
