I know, I know, yet another neutral palette...what can I say, it's a problem. Today I thought I would go over the 'Death By Chocolate' palette by Makeup Revolution in case you were trying to decide which chocolate palette to go for from the three. If you'd like to see my reviews of the two other palettes in the range you can do so here and here.
Much like the other palettes in the 'Chocolate' range from Makeup Revolution, the packaging for this palette is fairly chunky. It has the 'melted chocolate' design, which I guess it supposed to mimic the look of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, but really this has ended up just being way too bulky and it kind of unnecessary, but for the price I can look past the packaging. Again, this palette contains 16 shadows, two of which are highlighting shades which are slightly bigger than the other shades.
If you're struggling to see the difference between this palette and the 'I Heart Chocolate' palette, then you're not alone, they are quite similar. I'd say the only difference is that this palette is slightly more cool toned and contains more taupe shades than the previous palette, and a few more darker shades. The formula for this palette, and all of the other chocolate palettes from Makeup Revolution is amazing. They're all highly pigmented, buttery soft and easy to blend out - basically everything you'd look for in an eyeshadow. I really don't have any complaints when it comes to these palettes (apart from the packaging, but thats a minor issue) and I think they're lovely additions to anyones collection, with lots of variation and wearable shades - so good luck choosing just one!
Lots of Love,

Thank you Clare :) I hate reviews without swatches so I had to include them! xx
DeleteThe swatches look great, the pigmentation of each shade look so good.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your thoughts on the packaging but as the price is really good I think I need to check it out.
Thanks for the review!
Leanne xx
It is quite bulky and annoying, but definitely not something that would put me off buying it as you really can't beat the price! xx
DeleteThis looks amazing! I love anything chocolate related haha. I love the packaging.

Don't we all! My collection is getting a little out of hand now haha. Thank you! xx
DeleteSome colours look similar to the Chocolate Bar palette by Too Faced. Have you swatched that one too? It also smells delish ;)

I actually have all of the Makeup Revolution chocolate palettes and the Too Faced one - addiction much! Some of the colours in this palette are similar, but I think if you want a close dupe, then the "I Heart Chocolate' palette may be better! xx
DeleteIt does so sound so similar to the Too Faced palette, right down to the scent x
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm not sure how they get away with it! xx
DeleteOoooh this palette looks brill. The colours are gorgeous, I am such a sucker for neutral shades.
