Hello Beauties! Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll be aware of Kylie Jenner's infamous lips. They are everywhere, I mean everywhere at the moment, and her very much lusted after '90s Nude Lip' has seen the likes of MAC Velvet Teddy and Brave out of stock for months now. However, if unlike me, you're a bit unsure of the trend but want to give it a go anyway then I may have just the product for you. I was pretty sure that this look wouldn't suit me (and I was right) but when something is that on trend, you just have to try it, right? However being very aware of the impending doom when I looked in the mirror at the shade on my lips, I went for a more budget option, because despite my tendency to spend ridiculous amount of money on shades I'll never wear, I was actually being sensible for once - I know, who am I and what have I done with the real Becky?
And that's where Essence comes in. Their Long Lasting Nude Lipstick in 'Come Naturally' is the perfect drugstore Kylie Jenner shade, and unlike some dupes, it's actually a pretty good dupe for the MAC lipstick formula too. Much like MAC cremesheen lipsticks, the Essence Longlasting Lipstick is ultra creamy and moisturising and the colour is a dead ringer for that 90s nude that everyone has been lusting over recently. As far as it's 'long-lasting' claims go, it's not super long lasting but it also doesn't rub off straight away - a lot like the MAC cremesheen lipsticks actually. And at £2.80 you really can't go wrong!
So, if like me, you're a bit unsure of this 90s nude trend but want to give it a go, then I'd really recommend this lipstick from Essence - that way, if you don't like it you haven't just wasted £15+ on something you'll never wear!

Lots of Love,

Definitely try this one first then! I found out that I didn't really suit it and I'd have been a bit annoyed at myself if I'd have spent £15 on Velvet Teddy to discover the same thing! xx
DeleteEveryone seems to be raving about Essence lipsticks, i need to try them! x

You really do! The packaging isn't as pretty as some of the higher end brands, but the formula inside is pretty much exactly the same! xx
DeleteSo happy you have posted this. I've been dying to try out and follow this trend and I'm aware of the craze over MAC's Velvet Teddy and Brave, but couldn't bare the thought of spending £15 on a lipstick that A. may not suit me and B. that also may not work well with my lips as I suffer terribly with dry and sensitive lips that become easily agitated. But I'm more than willing to try out this dupe! Thank you love - great post. X

Definitely pick this little one up then! I know what you mean about not wanting to spend the money, I'm always cautious about which shades I get from MAC as I've spent a small fortune in there in the past just to find out I hate the shades when I actually apply them on my lips! xx
DeleteI LOVE those Essence lipsticks, what a fab dupe too!

You definitely should, I'm off to Wilko after the bank holidays to pick up some more bits! x
DeleteThis is a lovely shade, well done on finding a more affordable dupe! I'm never too sure if I can pull of something like this, so the fact it doesnt cost a fortune makes it more likely to be a purchase!

My new blog post... 1 pair of jeans, 3 ways to style.
I know what you mean, it's definitely a lot harder to pull off than everyone makes out but at under £3 it's worth a try! x
