A Few Recent Favourites...

Tuesday, 9 June 2015

I briefly mentioned in my last post that I don't often do 'favourites' posts here in Lipgloss & Lashes, which means that some very much loved products don't really get the exposure that they deserve, as they're reviewed once and then never mentioned again. So, in an effort to change that, I thought I would show you all some of my recent favourites...

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume - The Perfume Shop

Now that the weather has warmed up a little I've been swapping out my fragrances and opting for lighter, more floral scents. Daisy by Marc Jacobs has been a favourite of mine for years now, so it's no surprise that I've been wearing this non stop recently. It's a beautiful light floral scent...and that bottle is just to die for!

CND Shellac Power Polish Top Coat - Amazon

I am terrible at painting my nails, and even when I do a good job, it's chipped within a matter of hours. So recently I've been using the CND Shellac Power Polish Top Coat to create a 'DIY Shellac Manicure'. I am very aware that you're supposed to use this with all of the other Shellac products to get a proper gel manicure, however I've found that using this over my regular OPI polishes has worked really well. I just paint my nails how I would normally, then apply the top coat and set it under a UV lamp - and voila! I find that this lasts me about 10 days before I need to take it all off and start again, which seems like a lifetime to me as previously my nail polish would last 3 hours tops.

Benefit Cosmetics 'Big, Beautiful Eyes' Palette - Feel Unique

I'm not usually a fan of 'little palettes' if that makes sense? I much prefer the bigger palettes with 16 shadows and endless eyeshadow possibilities, however there certainly is a place for a much simpler palette in my makeup collection, for those days when you just don't have time to think about your makeup. The palette contains a base shade, and crease shade and a liner shade which all work nicely together to create a eye-opening neutral look, perfect for everyday wear.

Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts in 'Summer of Love' - Makeup Revolution

As the weather has been so lovely recently, I've been seriously upping my fake tan levels..just incase it's actually warm enough to get my legs out. I'm not usually a fan of shimmery bronzers, however with my darker skin, this bronzer creates the perfect 'golden goddess' look. Obviously, I wouldn't use this to contour, but it works really nicely to brighten up your skin and create a more dewy look.

What are your current favourites?

Becky x x
