St Tropez In Shower Tan Review

Thursday, 13 August 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and have had a lovely week. Like I said yesterday, it's been a busy week for me so I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend! Last month the blogosphere was going crazy for the latest launch from St Tropez - the In Shower Tan. I'm not the biggest fan of gradual tans (I'm more of a 1 hour express tan kinda girl) so I didn't race to Boots straight away to pick it up, but recently one of my friends gave me this sample size to test out, so I thought I would share my thoughts on this so called 'wonder product'.

The whole in shower thing really appeals to me, I'm extremely lazy when it comes to body creams, tans, exfoliators etc as they normally take ages to dry and sink in, anything that I can apply in the shower and then wash straight off sounds like a dream come true - if they work. The St Tropez In Shower Tan is a lightweight cream formula which contains sweet almond oil, giving the lotion a 'slippy', oily texture. The one thing I really did love about this product was that it was super easy to use. You literally just smother it all over your body and wait a couple of minutes before washing it off, it could not be easier to apply.

However, I was left a little disappointed in the results. I know I'm not the worlds biggest gradual tan fan, but I like to be able to see a difference in my skin colour when I tan, which unfortunately wasn't the case with this tan. The change in colour was so slight that you really couldn't notice that I'd even tanned. If you're a little afraid of tanning, then you'd probably really like this product. It's almost impossible to get it wrong and the colour is super light and super natural...but if you like to see a real 'where have you been on holiday?' difference in your skin, then this probably isn't the tan for you.

Overall, I love the concept of this product, but the colour just wasn't dark enough for me. If St Tropez could bring out a 'dark' version of this tan, I'd be first in line to buy it, but for now I doubt I'll be repurchasing.

Lots of Love,

Becky xo

  3. I'm really pale so i think this would be good for me, but a range of shades would definitely be a good thing! xx

  4. I am a big fan of this and as someone who isn't the biggest fake tanner, I liked the difference it colour it made my skin x

  5. The concept sounds really fantastic. And I tend to be pretty lazy when it comes to tanning, lotions, etc. So it sounds great.....but it is too bad that the colour doesn't do much! I love gradual tanners but they still need to give you that colour pay off!

  6. I find with this product if you pat yourself slightly drier, instead of being dripping wet then it actually works a little better, not sure why but its seemed to work! But I do agree, its extremely gradual which is quite annoying but really good review x

  7. This sounds perfect to me so I'm going to have to give it a go as I am very lazy myself. Xx

  8. I may have to check this stuff out, I've heard some mixed reviews on this. Great post

  9. I totally agree with you on this. When I first heard about the product I thought all my dreams had come true, but was left pretty unimpressed after the first used and it's sat in my shower ever since. I get that it's a gradual tan, but to have no effect after the first go was pretty disappointing. Maybe I should give it another couple of consecutive goes but I know what you mean feeling a little underwhelmed. That said, one of my old colleagues used it, loved it and looked great so maybe I've just not got the hang of it yet! x

  10. I recently done a review on this and felt the same! I was so excited about it but it just didn't give me much colour at all. I have heard it's worked great on other people though, maybe it's just different skin tones :/ great post! :) x
