Things to do in London: Brunch at Borough Market

Sunday, 16 August 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and have had a fabulous weekend! Back in January, which I still cannot believe was over 6 months ago, I said I wanted to include a few more 'lifestyle' posts on my blog and like always, I posted about one and then went straight back to my old beauty-focussed ways. However, now I'm living in London, I want to make more of an effort to go out and explore at the weekends and really appreciate the city that I'm living in. So this weekend when I went for brunch at Borough Market I took my camera along and I'm so glad I did - everything was just so photo-worthy...so prepare yourself for one photo-heavy post.

I live and work in West London, so heading over to London Bridge is still a bit of a novelty for me. I love looking at all of the touristy things and peering up at the Shard, so Borough Market was really the perfect way to spend my Saturday. I headed over early (well, early for a Saturday) to meet my friend Katie, and we popped into The Breakfast Club for some brunch before tackling the crowds at Borough Market. I don't have any good photos of my food at The Breakfast Club as honestly, after an hour long queue I was starving and it was pretty dark in there. There is, however, a snap on my Instagram, so if you really want to take a look then you can head over there (@rderbyshire93).

After brunch, we headed over to Borough Market, already feeling suitably stuffed. Borough Market is one of the oldest and largest food markets in London, stocking everything you could possibly want from a market from your standard fruit and veg, to all different types of breads and pastries, savoury snacks, seafood, drinks galore..and of course, cake. Wondering around the market is like taking a trip through a food-filled maze. There's something different on every corner and you really could spend hours there wandering through all of the different lanes and stalls. I loved looking at all of the delicious food on offer, and had I not been completely full from The Breakfast Club, I would have definitely bought about 10 burgers and salads as they all looked to die for. If you're a foodie, or even just appreciate a good donut (who doesn't?!), then I'd really recommend a trip to Borough Market.

There's also loads of bars, pubs and restaurants dotted throughout the market, so if thats more you're thing then there's plenty on offer for you. It does get pretty busy on a Saturday, so if you can I'd try going on a weekday where you can really take your time appreciating the food on offer, or if like me, you work weekdays, then it's still pretty great on a Saturday...just prepare yourself for it to be busy.

Lots of Love,

Becky xo
